Procedure:
1. Pick at least 10 green medium to big sized leaves. Freshly pick ones are better as
they tend to have more juice.
2. Boil the leaves with water.
3. Enjoy the tea.
4. Don’t reuse the boiled leaves. Make new batch once you have finished the tea.

Materials/Ingredients Needed:
1 stalk lemongrass (1 tbsp dried lemongrass)
3 cups boiling water
piece of ginger optional
honey optional
Procedure:
1. Wash the lemongrass and peel its outermost skin.
2. Fold the grass and add it to a small pot of boiling water.
3. Boil for 15 minutes.
4. Lemongrass Tea after boiling
5. Add your favorite sweetener (optional) and serve hot or chilled.

Preparation:
Ginger Tea - Filipino Salabat with Lemon Honey
Materials/Ingredients Needed:
Medium-sized teapot (for boiling)
Tea cup
Large sieve
1/2 cup fresh ginger peeled, sliced in 1-inch thin slices
1 whole fresh lemon washed, seeded, sliced
1/2 large fresh apple peeled, cored, seeded and sliced (red delicious or Fuji or
any sweet variety)
2 Tablespoons Honey
● 2 tablespoons brown sugar (as an alternative to honey)
● 3 cups water to boil
Procedure:
1. Place the ginger, lemon and apple slices in a medium-sized teapot.
2. Add 3 cups of water and wait for it to boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for
about 8 minutes. You will smell the gingery aroma from the brew and wait for
the tea to turn into a darker color.
3. If desired, press the fruits through a large sieve and add the liquid to the
ginger tea. Pour the tea in a large teapot. Serve with a few tablespoons of
honey.
Alternative:
● If honey is not available, the traditional ingredient to sweeten this ginger tea
is brown sugar. Add about 2 tablespoons brown sugar to the pot and let it
boil with the ginger.

Materials/Ingredients Needed:
● Tawa – tawa leaves
● Pot
● Water
Procedure:
1. Take 5 to 6 pieces of Tawa-tawa plant.
2. Cut off and exclude the roots.
8. Place the strainer on top of the mouth of the pitcher and slowly pour the tea into
the pitcher.
9. Drink nothing but the Tawa-tawa tea for the next 12 to 24 hours.
10.Sip 1 to 1.5 glasses of Tawa-tawa water every hour for best results.

Materials/Ingredients Needed:
Malunggay Leaves

Procedure:
1. Pick out 4 to 5 branches from the tree. Choose those with lots of leaves.
2. Place them on a tray and leave in a dry place anywhere in your home for 3-4
days or until the leaves dry up and become crumpled. No need for sunlight.
3. Pick out the crumpled leaves from the twigs and place in a dry pan over a low
fire. Do not place water or oil in the pan.
4. Cook the leaves, turning them over with a cooking spoon so that the leaves are
cooked evenly. They are cooked when they are toasted but not burned.
5. Store the cooked leaves in any container with a cover.
6. To make the tea, take a tablespoon of the cooked leaves from the container and
place in a cup of hot water. Let sit until the water absorbs the green color and
nutrients of the leaves. It takes the same amount of time as making ordinary tea
from tea bags.
7. Remove the leaves from the cup.
8. Option: add honey.

Procedure:
1. Gather fresh bayabas leaves
2. Wash with water
3. Boil leaves (1cup = 8 cups of water) for 8-10 mins
4. Strain and cool
5. For mouthwash, garble
6. As disinfectant, wash wound 2-3x/day
For Diarrhea:
1. Gather leaves
2. Boiled chopped pieces about 4-6 tablespoons for every 18 ounces of water for 15
mins

4. Let it cool
5. Drink ¼ cup of decoction every 3-4 hours
