2. Tally the result using Frequency table (ungrouped) example

MALE TALLY f
65 l 1
68 ll 2
70 ll 2
72 lll 3
75 ll 2
FEMALE TALLY f

3. Compute the Measures of Central Tendency (Mean, Median, Mode) of the two groups (male and
Female)

MALE f fx
65 1 65
68 2 136
70 2 140
72 2 144
75 3 225

MEAN 65.6
MEDIAN 65
MODE 65

4. Compute the Variance, Standard Deviation and Coefficient of Variation (use data as a sample) of the
two groups (male and Female)

VARIANCE:

MALE X-x (X-x)^2 FEMALE X-x (X-x)^2

65 -5 25 62 -4 16
68 -2 4 64 -2 4

Variance(s) 14.5 Variance(s) 11.5

STANDARD DEVIATION:

STDEV(s) 3.8 STDEV(s) 3.4

COEFFICIENT OF VARIATION:

5. Make a conclusion based on the computed results of IV and V

- Based on the data above, males count for 8.3% of the population while females count
for just 4.5% implying that males higher than the females which the height of males are taller
than females.

6. At 0.05 level of significance, test the hypothesis that your male classmates are taller than
your female classmates. (Apply the steps in testing the hypothesis)

(HO): μ1 = μ2: There is no significant difference between the height of male and female.
(Ha): μ1>μ2: The height of a male Is greater than the height of females.
Hypothesis test: One-tailed right directional test.

0< 1.73
Therefore, we accept Ho
Conclusion: According to the equation above, there is no significant difference between male
and female height.
