the last but not least, Siti my dearest colleague.

I’ve classified our presentation into 5 meaningful parts.

First, my colleague Ezza will explain the background, then my
colleague Raja will explain about The definition of feminism, next
my colleague Gilang will explain about the important roles of
feminism, after that my colleague Shabrina will explain about the
impacts and the solutions of feminism problem, last but not least, I
will tell about the conclusion

I would directly welcome Ezza as the presenter to deliver the

background of feminism. Alright, Ezza the floor is yours.
Thank you Siti, I’d give some backgrounds and the history about
feminism from the beginning. The word feminism was first coined by
the utopian socialist activist Charles Fourier in 1837. Basically
feminism is a belief that women feel they are treated unfairly in a
society that is formed to prioritize the perspectives of men and
their interests. Women become all things that are not men, where men
are considered strong, women are weak, men are considered rational
and women are emotional, men are considered active, women are passive
and so on. In short, feminism is trying to change this situation.

Women have always been hit by excessive social pressure and

expectations. Starting from how to dress, how to talk, how to behave.
In some aspects, the Indonesian state has developed and in other
aspects there has been One of the actions that can be taken to reduce
verbal and nonverbal violence for women is to eliminate all forms of
verbal and nonverbal violence against women, trafficking in persons
and sexual exploitation, as well as various types of exploitation.

Regardless of the variety of thought, feminism has two basic

principles that are generally agreed upon by all variants of
feminism, namely:

1. Fight for equality. Feminism is political. That is, feminism is

not only concerned with ideas related to equality. Feminism connects
these ideas with real action, which aims to encourage change towards
equality between women and men.

For example, the salaries of men are higher than women. This is a
oppression for women. Some assume that men have a great
responsibility, but others argue that men and women have the same
responsibility. Femenism came to eradicate such discriminating
thoughts.

Based on survey we have shared on Friday, 15th of April 2022. From 36

respondents. Most of the respondents chose that women should be
social, political and economic equal. (Attachment 4)

2. End verbal and nonverbal sexual violence. According to feminism,

inequality between women and men has led to various cases of sexual
violence against women; ranging from sexual harassment, domestic
violence, to rape. Ending verbal and nonverbal sexual violence is one
of the main goals of the feminist movement in recent years.

For example, Women still often experience "catcalling" on the

streets. If in Indonesia, it can take the form of whistling or
irreverent sounds, "praise" ("Hi, Beautiful, where do you wanna
go?"), absurd greetings such as ("Girl, alone, huh? want to be
accompanied?").
Faced with catcalling, women of course are more often silent and try
not to care. Those who try to fight back, they often only get laughed
at by catcaller. The choice to remain silent ultimately leads to high
rates of sexual harassment worldwide.

The world prefers to teach how to avoid sexual harassment in

women, rather than prevent men from committing sexual crimes. From a
very young age, women are always taught to be careful every time they
go out of the house, they are always paranoid and be careful to not
going with stranger and never forget to keep an eye on the drinks.
Some even carry pepper spray everywhere. But why have we never seen
men being taught to not touching women without their permission or
not putting any items in their drinks?

That’s all from me, next Raja will explain about the definition of
feminism.

Thank you for the opportunity that you have given Ezza, let me
begin about the early on by explaining the definition of feminism.
Many women are physically weaker than men; men also tend to be more
aggressive. Combined with certain psychological and environmental
factors, this fact has become one of the causes of domestic violence.
According to the statistics, the vast majority of people know about
the suffering of women due to domestic violence.

1. Feminism is a set of social movements, political movements, and

ideologies that share the same goal of defining, building, and
achieving gender equality in the political, economic, personal, and
social spheres. Gilang, B. (2020)

2. Feminism is an ideology or an understanding that expresses equal

rights between men and women. Pendidikan, D. (2022)

3. Feminism as a system of ideas is a broad framework and the study

of social life and human experience that develops from a female-
centered perspective. Hidayati, N. (2018)

Based on survey we have shared on Friday, 15th of April 2022.

From 36 respondents. Most of the respondents are female adults and.
This is supported by the data we get where only 73.5% are female and
the 26.3% are male. (Attachment 1). 47.4% are 18 years old, 36.8% are
19 years old and 15,8% are 20 years old and above. (Attachment 2)
The result of the survey on what word comes to mind when you hear the
word "feminism" are 44.7% chose Gender Equality, 28.9% chose Women
Rights and the last 23.7% chose Women Empowerment. (Attachment 3)

18.4% of the respondents are strong feminist, 71.1% of the

respondents are feminist and the last 10.5% are not feminist based on
the survey (Attachment 5). That's all from me. Next, Gilang. The
floor is yours.

Thank you for the opportunity that you have given Raja. While
feminist movement is about achieving equality for both men and women,
it still is important to realize that women experience more
inequalities than men. Women have been seen for many years as being
inferior or weaker than male.

Important roles of feminism are :

1. Feminism is about giving boys and girls the freedom to do what

they want and ensuring that people are not constrained by gender
roles and expectations be it at home, at school, at work or in
parliamen

2. To take gender roles that have existed for many years and
deconstruct them to enable people to live freely and empowered,
without being dependent on boundaries

3. Gender roles (a set of appropriate rules that say how a person

should behave based on their gender) can be dangerous for both men
and women. That’s all I got. Up next is Shabrina, she will going to
talk about the impacts and the solution of feminism problem

Thank you for the opportunity that you have given Gilang, Feminism
has had a life-changing impact on everyone, especially women. If we
look at history, we see that it is what gave women the right to vote.
It was no small feat but was achieved successfully by women.

Further, if we look at modern feminism, we see how feminism

involves in life-altering campaigns. For instance, campaigns that
support the abortion of unwanted pregnancy and reproductive rights
allow women to have freedom of choice. Moreover, feminism constantly
questions patriarchy and strives to renounce gender roles. It allows
men to be whoever they wish to be without getting judged. It is not
taboo for men to cry anymore because they must be allowed to express
themselves freely.
These are 3 ways you can be a women’s rights advocate today, and
every day :

1. Raise your voice as a woman

Whether you’re talking to your friends and family, or engaging with
an advocacy organization, the most important way to be an advocate is
speaking up. By raising your voice for women’s rights and gender
equality, you can spread awareness and break down barriers.

2. Support one another

If you find yourself in a place that allows you to make a real
difference in other women’s lives, obstacles will not stop you
anymore.

3. Educate the next generation

Youth activists around the world are stepping it up for gender
equality. By empowering young advocates, and educating them about
women’s rights, we can ensure a better future for all. That's all
from me. For Siti, please.

Thank you for the opportunity that you have given Shabrina, so it
could be concluded that feminism has been around for many centuries.
Feminism is a gender equality. And respondents in our survey claim to
be feminists.

Basically feminism is a belief that women feel they are treated

unfairly in a society that is formed to prioritize the perspectives
of men and their interests. Feminism has two basic principles is
fight for equality and end verbal and nonverbal sexual violence.
Feminism to encourage change towards equality between women and men.

Thank you Siti, now it's almost to the end of our presentation. Does
anyone have any questions or comments? fell free to interupt us. We
will be very happy to answer your questions.

Thank you so much for your question. This is the end of our
presentation. Thank you for your attention, have a great one!
