Question no.1

How do we become a critical thinker? In what ways can we relate critical

thinking to day to day practical life experiences?
Answer
Critical thinking is the ability to think rationally and logically toward each and every aspect of life.
A human being brain is eligible for thinking from birth, it consist a memory or glimpse of all
things which are surrounded by him/her. Critical thinking require you to think independently on a
topic or problem which you are facing, it means to question continuously regarding the problem
until you think you got your all answers, therefore to determine the task, ideas and findings
clearly you have to think critically. Reacting emotionally will drop you down from your ideas and
destination, so being a critical thinker you have to keep aside your emotions. You have to develop
your listening skills, if you will not listen correctly to the task, criticism and argument without
thinking about the outcome or reaction while they are speaking. Than you can’t absorb their
information.
For instance:-
You are working in a group meeting, the first step will be to listen properly than analyze the task
after that you have to create a mind map for your problem by drafting some situations. In the end
you will be able to determine the easiest way of solution to your problem.
Or If you consider a kid with astro phobia, than you will find some changes in his behavior while
raining or lighting. It causes because of some nostalgic memory he had in his childhood.
Question no.2

Relate the theory of Idealism in Plato’s Allegory of the cave to contemporary

social media trends.

Plato's idea of realism can be compared with the recent trends on social
media in the following manner:

1. Reality resembles a spider’s web according to Plato Allegory , what

we see is not the real, and there is any higher truth of existence. ,
the forms of things in our mind which are eternal. As a audience
when we are sitting in theatre we see many concepts in film which
tends to believe in real but they are not meant to be. In the same
way, we can consider the real material world as ultimate reality and

negate the virtual world what we think to be the reality. Similarly if
we see social media we saw a lot of things which haven’t any
connection with the real world but it gives mind blowing ideas about
life.
2. Social media like Facebook, Instagram and twitter are created to
broaden our mind

3. Social media trend is an art and a best platform to run

advertisement which we think to be true without experiencing the
real facts in our human world.

4. We get easily convinced by the tricks in social media without trying

the facts.

5. Sometimes bloggers and influencers in social media promote things

which have no use in real but they promote them for their profit and
we usually agree with them, so that’s their trick for grabbing
attention.

6. Like Plato did in his crave, he just want to create a illusion by the
puppets and fire so the shadow formed, the shadow looks alike the
real prisoners and seems to things which people easily belief so
same as we use social apps we are prisoned in social media by
making friends, following them and getting touch with the
surrounding by this the feed becomes the reflection of our
ideologies and belief.

concept cannot be considered as real without experiencing it.

of motion.

4. The basic structure of reality which we think in our mind, it is not in physical
shape but it doesn’t mean it is not real.
