Critique for the Movie

Passion of Christ

The Passion of Christ is a movie that shows salvation to mankind. The story recalled how
bitterly Jesus suffered emotionally at the thought of the terrible sins that people continue to
commit. In spite of His being innocent and having been declared such by Pontius Pilate, was
cruelly scoured like a criminal. He endured that terrible physical pain specially in atonement of
our self- indulgence. He was crowned with thorns by the soldiers and experienced humiliation
and tortures who made shucks for the viewers. The story also recalled how Jesus suffered as he
carries His heavy cross on His wounded shoulders then the Jews kept insulting Him, while most
His disciples went into hiding even Simon lied to the soldiers three times.

I should say that it was a spiritually horror movie for it showed great suffering to
redeemed the humanity from sin. Since this movie or should I say clip, for this is just an episode
for the life of Jesus as He was on this earth, the movie was filled with mixed emotion. The author
of the movie was really a great author I’ve ever met. I am not saying literally to the actors, the
editor and actresses my compliments to God the Father. He made such a great masterpiece. Not
just an ordinary masterpiece but a wonderful story that everyone can mirror, even it happened in
the past. His creation never faded. Decades had passed but the memories of the story of Jesus
remained remarkable and His teachings unbreakable. I have read so many great books written by
the great writers, I have saw many good movies that could really wash and ease the pain and all
of them are slowly faded.

According to the books I’ve read there are many versions of the Passion of Christ. Some
it begins with the Last Supper, The Palm Sunday and most versions is the events in the garden in
Getsemani. It was where Jesus prayed to the Father that it was the Father’s will and not Him.
This version was the one I watched lately. Eventually, it was the first mystery of sorrow since it
was the starting point of His sufferings.

The second mystery is the scourging of Jesus at the pillar in which the movie recalled
how Jesus cruelly scourge by the hands of the soldiers. Then third, the crowning of Jesus with
thorns as the video presents that the soldiers mocked Him as they shouted and make jokes on
Him saying “ All hail the King of Jews” something like that. The fourth one is the suffering of
Jesus as He carried His cross. This scene makes the viewers hearts shivers and melt like an ice
cream in the sunny day. This scene really captivates the eyes of the viewers hearts because
great humiliation happened as well as great suffering, to the fact that you can look at the eyes of
the Mother filled with pity to her Son, the pain that stab her heart in a million times seeing her
Son in grief, that she couldn’t do anything.

Lastly, the Crucifixion and Death of Jesus in the Calvary. The scene recalled how Jesus
was nailed to the cross, while praying for His executioners. There He agonized for three long
hours if I am not mistaken, before dying, He promised heaven to the repentant thief and gave us
His mother. Then, he died, entrusting His soul to His all-loving Father.

The Death was truly scary but Jesus as the main actor didn’t afraid for the consequences.
He was died on the cross on a glinting beam of the sun but what happened scares the people for it
suddenly doomed. A thunder roared the place and the temple was destroyed.

I really don’t know what is the real scene in that events since the director in that episode
is just referring to the Gospels but based on my insight maybe the actors specially to the one who
portrayed as Jesus is a little bit too much. Is it really that harsh and brutal for Jesus execution?
Maybe not, well, that was just my insight.

Overall, it was creepy and scary to live in the past ‘coz as what the movie shows the
people in their maybe once a perfectionist you should live according to Albert Einstein “The
world is not dangerous because of those who do harm but because of those who look at it without
doing anything.” Gladly, Jesus came into the world and save humanity from sin.
