4. The T introduces the title of the lesson and asks the Ss to
identify the first conditional in the lyrics of the song.
Interaction: T-SS, SS-T.
Timing: 7 min.
ACTIVITY 2:
Aim: - to introduce the first conditional (if/ unless clause + 'll (will)/
won't)
Procedure: 1. The T asks some Ss to write the first conditional
structures found in the song on the blackboard.
2. The Ss, with the help of the T, elicit the rules specific to
the first conditional. These are written on the blackboard and in the Ss
notebooks. The Ss also elicit in what situations this structure is to be
used.
Interaction:T-SS, SS-T, SS-SS.
Timing: 5 min.
ACTIVITY 3:
Aim: - to practice the first conditional (if/ unless clause + 'll (will)/ won't)
Procedure: 1. The T asks the Ss to elicit different superstitions that they
may now. Then, she gives them handouts with less known superstitions.
2. The Ss read the task and complete it. Then, they read their
answers to the whole class and correct them with their T if necessary.
Interaction: T-SS, SS-T, SS-SS.
Timing: 10 min.
ACTIVITY 4:
Aim: - to introduce the first conditional (imperative clause with
conjuction "or")
- to practice the first conditional
- to rephrase sentences using different structures
Procedure: 1. The T writes a sentence on the blackboard (If you aren't
careful with that knife, you'll cut yourself) and asks the Ss to rephrase it
using unless and or.
2. The Ss elicit their answers. The correct ones are written
on the blackboard and, then, the Ss elicit the rules for each of the newly
introduced structures.

3. The T guides the Ss towards ex. 8, page 51 in the Student's
Book.
4. The Ss read the task and rephrase the first sentence
together with the T. Then, the Ss are asked to rephrase the other sentences
individually. After the completion of the task, the Ss read their answers
aloud.
Interaction: T-SS, SS-T.
Timing : 15 min.
ACTIVITY 6:
Aim: - to provide feedback from the students
- to assign the homework
Procedure: 1. The T assigns ex. 6, page 37 and ex. 2, page 115 in the
LB as homework .
2. The very active Ss are praised and get a red point, while
the less active ones are encouraged to get more involved in the future
lessons.
