Year: 2016-17
Objective:
Provide hands-on learning to engineering students who have limited access to labs and
mentors
Brief Summary: The e-yantra robotics lab was inaugurated (online) on 28.07.2016. This lab is an initiative
to spread education in Embedded systems and Robotics by IIT Bombay sponsored by
Ministry of Human Resource Development through the National Mission on Education
through ICT (NMEICT).
A team of 4 teachers from BITM,Ballari was trained in two phases by IIT Bombay:
Phase 1: A 2-day workshop (@regional level) on the basics of Embedded systems theory
and Micro-controller programming.
Phase 2: Engaging the teams through Task based Training (TBT) – where teachers are
trained to implement various experiments on the robot over a period of three/four
months.
Following are the initiatives available for students :
e-Yantra Robotics Competition: Annual Robotics competition for Engineering/
Science/ Polytechnic colleges.
e-Yantra Summer Internship Program: An internship opportunity at e-Yantra Lab,
IIT Bombay to the winners of e-Yantra Robotics Competition.
e-Yantra Ideas Competition: Provides a platform for eLSI college students to
implement and showcase their innovative ideas.

4. Recognize to use engineering tools, software for drawing and engage in lifelong
learning.
Brief Summary: Unigraphics NX (also known as Siemens nx) is an advanced High-end CAD/CAM/CAE
software package originally developed by UGS Corporation, But since 2007 it is owned by
Siemens PLM Software. It is used, among other tasks, for Design ,Engineering analysis
,Manufacturing finished design by using included machining modules.
This course is designed to give complete & depth knowledge of every tool used to make
designed model or drawings with exercises.
The course will help students to learn the implementation of solid modeling and get
hands-on experience with the real world projects. This course is structured in a
pedagogical sequence to cover the topics of part design, assembly, drafting, wireframe &
surface, and Generative Sheetmetal Design workbenches of Unigraphics NX-11.
Year: 2018-19
4. Recognize to use engineering tools, software for drawing and engage in lifelong
learning
Brief Summary: The Unigraphics NX which is owned by Siemens PLM software is an integrated and
advanced CAD, CAE, and CAM solutions. The software is an integrated product design
solution which streamlines and increase product development process for those
engineers who are willing to deliver innovative product in a collaborative environment.
The NX software integrates knowledge-based principles, industrial design, geometric
modeling, advanced analysis, graphic simulation, and concurrent engineering. The
software has powerful hybrid modeling capabilities by integrating constraint-based
feature modeling and explicit geometric modeling. In addition to modeling standard
geometry parts, it allows the user to design
complex free-form shapes such as airfoils and manifolds. It also merges solid and surface
modeling techniques into one powerful tool set.
Outcome: . Student will have advanced solutions for conceptual design, 3D modeling, and
documentation.
. Student will learn product designing, industrial designing and styling (optimize form, fit,
& function and user experience), streamline 2D design, drafting, and documentation with
powerful tools for layout, drawing, and 3D annotation.
. Student will do assembly designing, sheet metal designing, and template based
designing.

selected as Training Partner (TP) to conduct Suryamitra program in the entire Hyderabad
Karnataka region.
This is a 600 hours (90 days) residential skill development program with maximum of 30
candidates in one batch. No fee will be charged from the trainees. The candidates would be
provided boarding and lodging facilities at the training center by the Training Partner (TP).
The qualification of participants shall be- The candidate should be 10th pass and ITI in
Electrician /Wireman/Electronics Mechanic/Fitter/ Sheet Metal, not below 18 years. Special
emphasis to be given to the persons coming from rural background, unemployed youth,
women, SC/ST candidates.
Teaching and practical work will be conducted for two months and one month industrial
visits as per NISE guidelines. At the end of the course, proper assessment (written test and
practical examination) shall be conducted and certificates shall be issued by Skill Council of
Green Jobs (SCGJ).
At the end of the suryamitra program, the host institute may arrange for placement of the
“Suryamitra” by inviting, solar industries, EPC companies, marketing companies, large
contractors working with Transco, Discoms etc.
Outcome: TP has successfully trained 30 candidates and certified by Skill Council of Green
Jobs (SCGJ).

Objective: The main objective of the training program is to improve the employable skills of the
students.
Brief Summary: Department of Civil Engineering organized a training program for 4th year Students,
associated with “FINISHING SCHOOL”. Nearly 70 students were participated in
this training program beginning from 07/01/2019 to 24/04/2019 of about 35 days in
the 4 phases. This training provided the opportunity to the students to learn the Total
Station, Advanced CAD, Primavera, E- tabs, Rivet structure, Rivet architecture and
improve their communication skills. An Employability Skill Assessment Test is
conducted after every phase; Assessment of these skills provides students the quantitative
inputs and helps in measuring competencies for specific tools. It also helps students to find
the job profile most suitable for their personality and gives an idea about areas of
improvement. The Assesment Tests have helped students to understand their strengths and
weaknesses and prepare accordingly for the placements and their careers ahead. Feedback
from the students were taken at the end of each module and reviewed. Certificates
were issued for the students after successful completion of the program along with
score card based on performance in tests. This training helps students to prepare for
all the modules which are part of campus placement process of various companies.
All these initiatives of Finishing School have helped institution to enhance placement rates
and provided more opportunities to the students, aspiring for higher education.
Outcome: At the end of training program, around 26 students got placed in various sectors of
civil Engineeing
