All India Thal Sena Camp is a centrally organised camp which is held every year in the month of
sept.- oct.The venue of the camp is selected by the DGNCC/Training(A) according to the
requirement of the the competition.It mainly consists of two competitions- one the main Thal Sena
Camp(330marks) includes SDs only and the service shooting competition(120marks) includes
both SDs and JDs.Altogether there will be 45 cadet (33SD+07JD) representing their respective
Directorates in the competition.
The events that are included in TSC (Boys) are:
1. Obstacle course
2. Map reading competition
3. Line and tent area competition
4. Health and hygiene competition
5. Judging distance and filed signal
In addition events like cultural programme and best cadet competition are also included but these
competitions does not contribute any point to the main TSC competition.
Now let us take a close look on the events included in TSC (Boys)
1.Obstacle course:(75 marks)
The obstacle course consists of following obstacles:
a. Straight balance
b. Clear jump
c. Gate vault
d. Zig zag balance
e. High wall
f. Double ditch
g. Right vault
h. Left vault
i. Dam Dama
j. Straight balance
It is a team event and timed competition.It consists of 07 (6+1res.) participant.Time will be
counted from the time the first member crosses the start line and the last member crosses the
finish line.Dress for the competition will be combat dress along with other equipment such as
rifle,pittu,pouch,etc.
2.Map reading competition: (75 marks)
In the map reading competition test conducted are as follows:
a. Map to ground
b. Ground to map
c. Finding own position
Number of cadets participating in
will be 07 (6+1res.).Each cadet will
be given 4min for GR of own pos.
And 3min for map to ground and
ground to map.Full marks will be
given to an individual getting the GR within 100m of specified GR.
a.Judging distance – In JD competition each cdt. Will be asked to judge the distance of
three object,one each in far, middle and near distance.
b.Field signal- Each cadet will be asked to indicate three different field signals.
