Activity: Research the description of the following. Give at least 3 examples.
1. Judgement Test - generally measure a mixture of style and ability. This means there may
not be answers that are definitively right or wrong. Instead the options you are given to
choose from relate to different behavioural styles and competencies.
EXAMPLES:

Q1. Your manager asks you to complete a task you have never don before. The task is not
included in your job description and you ha’ no idea how to complete it. What would you
do?
A. Agree to do the task and find out myself how to complete it to the required standard.
Although the task is not within my job description, I would see this as an opportunity
to learn new skills.
B. The task is not within my job description, I would refuse to do it.
C. Ask my manager for guidance on how to complete the task. Even though it is not within
my job description, I am happy to do it.
D . Ask my manager if I will receive additional pay for the task that is not within my job
description. If I am going to get paid, I will do it. If I am not

Q2. A co-worker tells you she is planning to take a week’s sick leave, when actually she is
going on holiday. How do you respond?
A. Do nothing and pretend she hasn’t told you. This is none of your business.
B. Advise your co-worker that being dishonest is likely to get her into trouble. Urge
her to be honest with your Supervisor.
C. Tell her to have fun on her vacation. If she gets away with it, consider doing it
yourself.
D. Consult your other work colleagues to see what they think you should do in this
situation. It’s better to get a second opinion.
Q3.You turn up to work early one morning and notice the cleaner has not emptied the bins
or cleaned the work surfaces. What would you do?
A. Inform my manager so they can speak to the cleaner’s supervisor to
complain.
B. Empty the bins myself and clean the work surfaces. I would then inform my
manager so he or she could raise the issue with the cleaner’s supervisor to
make sure it does not happen again
C. Try and contact the cleaner to let them know they need to come back and
finish the job properly.
D. I am not a cleaner; therefore, this it isn’t my problem. I would simply start
my working day as normal and get on with my tasks and responsibilities.

2. Multiple Choice test is a form of assessment in which students are asked to select the
correct or best answer out of the choices from the list. It requires the student to select
from the given options that will make the stem complete or correct.

4. Completion Test a type of test in which the participant is usually required to supply a

5. Free answer Test . The respondent is free to answer the question in his own his own way.
This is called the open form, open – ended, subjective, unrestricted, essay, free response,
and unguided response type.

6. Guided Response this is also called the closed form or restricted type. The respondent is

7. Dichotomous Test - is a question that can have only two possible results (T+ and T−).
Dichotomous are usually used in a survey that ask for a Yes/ No.

• Do you think laws requiring passengers in motor to wear seat belts

8. Multiple Responses are the kind of questions that provides a list of possible answer
options, and respondents can select all options that are true for them.
