2. Construct sentences using appropriate modal verbs.
3. Appreciate the importance of using appropriate modals through
differentiated activities.

2. Development The teacher will properly discuss the topic:


Permission- can could, may Can is most often used to ask for or
give permission. Use can to say that someone has permission to do
something.
Examples:
1.Can I borrow a pen?
2.You can sit here; the seat is free.
Could is also used to ask permission (but not to give it) could is
more formal and polite than can, we can also use could to say that
someone was allowed to do something in the past.
Examples:
1.Could I ask you something?
2.Both staff and students could use the ice rink
May is the most formal way to ask for and permission. Examples:

2.Customers may request a refund within a period of 30 days.

every designated modal. Every group must portray the use of
modals in real life situations.
