is a new token standard, which has the ability to describe and carry out
cashflows automatically on chain over time in a non-interactive way. It executes
cashflows on-chain as Superfluid lives on Layer 1 Ethereum, allowing full
composability (the ability to combine various components of a software stack in
different ways. Which in turn allows different protocols to be plugged into each other)
and no delays when withdrawing. It also enables people to move assets on-chain
following already set rules called agreements. The significance of this is that With a
single on-chain transaction, the money to be sent will go from your wallet to any
number of receivers in real time with no further transactions required- think Gasless
transfers
Once a stream is started to handle any comparable stream of value such as payment of
salaries, handing out of rewards, and subscription payment. it keeps flowing
automatically every second without needing subsequent or additional transactions
which results in good capital effeciency
ETHGlobal is a platform that uses its years of experience to propagate new skills,
push for the limits of new innovations and technologies, strengthen and onboard
thousands of developers with the aim of fostering a world class ecosystem of
Ethereum developers, Investors and entrepreneurs.
Get Users informed whenever their governance tokens can be used on important
proposals, as well as the status and time left for any active governance proposals
And many more, With in depth introduction to both use case projects out of the way
Stephen Byrne, John Sinclair, Sam Clein, Sean Cheetham came up with a hack which
involves the integration of our use case protocols (Ethereum Push Notifications
Service (EPNS) and Superfluid)
As explained above Superfluid enables the receiving and sending of money streams ;
however the problem with this service lies in the fact that, its users must either keep
their eye on their stream balances manually, Lehigh leads to insolvent streams to be
cancelled or use their email based notification service. With this problem in mind
They spotted the opportunity to incorporate the EPNS protocol directly with the
superfluid app.
They reached out to the Superfluid team who bought the idea of getting EPNS
effectively integrated with their protocol and outlined the ideal way they hoped it will
function. The hack team will strive to add the finish button and logic to the Superfluid
app frontend in order to subscribe to the EPNS channel.
In order to enable web2-like functionality within the superfluid app, users may enrol
with EPNS.
The hack team have created a small button to plug directly into the Superfluid front-
end to provide this functionality, so users never have to worry about their balances
again.
They have created notifications for:
Low balance alerts (insolvent streams)
New incoming stream
Cancelled outgoing stream
Cancelled incoming stream
They hope that this functionality will improve the UX of the protocols.
How it's made
We developed a lightweight node server to poll the blockchain listening for certain
events. Superfluid emits events to the blockchain as streams are created, updated or
ended and so our server processes these events and pings the EPNS contract in order
to send notifications to users (also in the form of a blockchain event) who are
subscribed to our EPNS channel which was created via the EPNS staging app.
