Lesson Plan in Science
At the end of the lesson the pupils would be able to.
a. To know what the solar system and the eight (8) planets that surrounds the sun.
b. To create interest in dealing with other information regarding the eight planets surrounds the sun.
c. To realize the importance of the eight planets in general and single term.
II. Subject matter:

III. Preliminary Activities
Pupils Activity
Teacher’s Activity
a. Prayer
Everybody stand up and let us pray
Who lead the prayer? (The pupils raise their hands)
Yes, Rechell Classmates please stand up and let us

Very good! Perfect Attendance.
c. Review
(Pupils raising their right hands)
As review, what are the parts of the sun?
Yes, Teresa
The parts of the sun are the core,
photosphere and corona.
Very good!
d. Motivation
Before we start our new lesson for today
I have here a song entitled “
e. Lesson Proper
Class sit straight and listen carefully,
afterwards you have a test.
Solar system - comprises the sun and the
eight planets. Its is formed about 4.6
billion years ago from the gravitational
collapse of a giant molecular cloud. The
planets are divided into parts , the
terrestrial composed of rock and metal
planets and the Jovian planets composed
of hydrogen and helium.
The terrestrial planets are composed
of Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.
The Jovian planets re compound
of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
Why does the Jovian planets are far away
from the sun?
Because, the Jovian planets are gaseous
planets and dense that’s why it is far
away from the sun.
How about the terrestrial planets?
Because, the terrestrial are made up of
rocks, that why it is nearer from the sun.
Sun- is a star center of the solar system. It
is a huge ball of burning gases. Heat and
light from the sun support life on earth.
The classification of star is G2V star. It is
formed about 4.96 billion year ago.
Mercury – smallest in the solar system. It
is made up of rocks and the closest planet
to the sun.
Venus- it is the earth turn, the same size
as the earth and brightest planet in the
solar system.
Earth- the only planet that can support
life. It is located in the habitable zone.
Mars- known as the red planet. Its
mountains are the highest in the solar
system.
Jupiter- the largest planet in the solar
system. It spins the fastest and has a
Great Red Spot.
Saturn – the second largest planet in the
solar system. Known for its ring the rings
are made up of rocks , dust ,and other
things.
Uranus- the planet in the solar system it
lies on its side and has ring made up of
dust. It is known a unique planet because
of orbital period.
Neptune- the dense planet in our solar
system, the farthest planet from the sun
and has many storms.
Groups yourselves into three (3)
Direction: Match column A to column B.
Column A
1. Know to be the red planet
2. The earth’s tuwin brightest planet
3. The largest planet and fastest
planet
4. The unique and coldest planet
5. The denses and farthest planet
6. The only planet that can support
life
7. The smallest and closest to the sun.
8. The second largest planet.
Column B
a. Mars
b. Venus
c. Earth
d. Sun
e. Uranus
f. Neptune
g. Jupiter
h. Saturn
i. Mercury
j. Galaxy
g. Generalization
Okay, some more questions,
clarifications about our lesson.
Okay, if there’s none. Get your ¼ paper
and pencil and answer the following
questions.
IV. Evaluation
Direction: Write the letter of the correct
answer on your paper.
1. It is the center of the solar system.
a. Sun b. Earth c. Venus
2. It is the largest planet in the solar
system and has a great red spot.
a. Sun b. Neptune c. Jupiter
3. How many planets are there in the
solar system?
a. Nine b. eight c ten
4. It is the planet where we live.
a. Venus b. Earth c. Saturn
5. It is the coldest and unique planet
in the solar system?
a. Mars b. Mercury
c. Uranus
Pass your paper to the front in the count
of 10.
V. Assignment
Direction: Arrange the planets according
to its order in the solar system.
Jupiter Mercury Uranus
Mars Saturn Earth
Neptune Venus
Pass your assignment on the next
meeting.
Goodbye class.
See you on Monday.
Have a nice weekend.
