I. Introductory Concept
The business plan is prepared using a scientific approach in determining possible business
situations considering the different perspectives of people who are interested in the business. It is the
roadmap of the new business and of the entrepreneur. It is a detailed and integrated written document that
describes the various activities involved in opening and operating a business. Business plan (made simple)
format: 1. Introduction 2. Executive Summary 3. Marketing Plan 4. Organization and Management
5.Financial Plan 6. Appendix.
1. Introduction is written in paragraph form stating salient details about the business. It includes,
among others, the following sections: proposed name of the business, address of the business, name of
the owner/s, description of the business, location and funding requirement and source. 2. Executive
Summary is commonly the last section to be written after all other major parts have been completed. It
must be written in simple language that can be easily understood and at the same time attract the attention
and influence the decision of the reader. 3. Marketing Plan details how the proposed business will sell its
product to the target consumers. Marketing mix compose of 7P’s: Product, Place, Price, Promotion, People,
Packaging and Positioning. 4. Organization or how your business is structured and the people involved.
The management team details about what your team brings to the business. 5. Financial Plan accumulates
and describes all the data expressed in monetary units from the other sections of the business plan.6.
Appendix is usually the last section to appear in the business plan. It is the place to include any additional
documents that you want to use to give your reader a feel for your product, marketing, services and so on.

II. Learning Skills from the MELCs

 Recognize a potential market.


 Select the best product or service that will meet the market need.
 Develop a brand name.
 Describe the marketing mix (7Ps) in relation to the business opportunity vis-à-vis: product,
place, price, promotion, packaging, people and positioning.

III. Activities
Prepare the parts of business plan (made simple) format. Write and encode your answers in long
bond paper. Times New Roman-font style, 12 font size, 1 all sides margins, 1.15 line spacing.

*To those students who do not have gadgets like laptop/computer for encoding, Handwriting is also
acceptable.
