Act 1
Scene 1. Etc Boxing gym and Henley college campus

A wide shot of a boxing gym is captured, you can hear the

inside very clearly, you hear the sound of boxing gloves
hitting a punching bag over and over. The shot lingers until
it cuts to Tom. Tom is the one punching the punching bags, he
is sweating profusely, we get a variety of shots from all
sorts of different angles of Tom punching the bag. He calls it
a day eventually; you see him take off his gloves and pick up
his water bottle and open it with his teeth whilst throwing a
towel over his shoulder. The scene cuts to the front door of
the boxing gym you see Tom come out of the gym with his phone
to his ear, you hear the ringing from the phone, the call goes
to voice mail and Tom responds

Tom
Hi mum, I know it’s been a while but I woke up this morning
thinking of you. I’m fully aware you might not wanna hear my
voice right now but I really wanted you to know…(Tom whelms up
and takes a breath) I really want you to know I’m doing
better, I have an apartment now, I live with this lovely old
lady called Kathrine, she lets me stay in her spare room for
£10 a week and… yeah things are going well so please call me
back (pause) I love you

Tom then hangs up the phone and walks out of shot.

Scene 2. Int Bedroom

Tom is lying on his bed with a tennis ball, he throws the
tennis ball in the air and catches it repeatedly, it is
apparent that Tom is board. He walks round his room and then
it jump-cuts to him punching a punching bag again, Tom is
sweating and grunting.

Scene 3. Ext Gym

Tom comes out of the boxing gym with a towel over his
shoulder, he walks away and the camera pans to behind 3 other

people watching Tom walking home from a distance. It then cuts
to Tom on his walk, Tom starts a phone call to his mother.

Tom
Hi mum, hope you’re doing well, it’s been a while, iv been
busy recently so not got the chance to call you last week
but…

(Notices 3 men walking towards him in the dark) I’m Gunna call
you back mum…

Tom hangs up, and decides to turn the other way, the 3 men
speed up and Tom starts to run as well, it becomes a foot
chase where Tom is trying to lose these 3 men. The 3 men cut
him off and start to pressure him, Tom doesn’t know what to
do, thug 1 throws a punch to Toms head knocking him to the
ground, the other 2 unloads with punches and kicks on Tom. The
white of Toms t-shirt turns red with blood, Tom is repeatedly
getting punched, and you can see something click in his head,
the next second, he is fighting them all off, he is punching
one to the ground, throwing another off him and getting up
quickly and rugby tackling another to the flaw, he grabs the
guy on the flaw. Thug 1 is screaming for help, but Tom doesn’t
hold back, Tom is punching thug 1 every second until there is
no more screams for help, the body becomes limp, but Tom
continues to punch the body, it is assumed the body is dead
but that doesn’t stop Tom, the 2 other thugs run off in fear.
Every punch Tom land it sounds mushier; thug 1’s face is
unrecognizable. Tom eventually stops punching and takes a look
at Thug 1’s face, Tom s shocked with what he just done, he is
in horror and is freaked out, Tom jumps up in panic and starts
to worry, putting his hands covered with blood over his face
in shock, Tom begins to run away as the camera remains on the
body, Tom runs all the way to a public bathroom, where the
camera follows him in, Tom is using the taps to wash the blood
from his hands and face. The song (gallowdance) plays and as
the beat changes Tom looks at himself in the mirror as if he
doesn’t recognise himself. He takes a step back and starts
heavy breathing, it matches cuts to Tom on the bus with a
half-arced job of whipping away the blood, he looks broken.
Act 2
Scene 4, Int. Bedroom
Tom is lying down in his bed, eyes wide open, sweating, with
no emotion on his face. Tom is clearly still in shock. After
some time, Tom gets to sleep but then he hears a knocking from
the inside, he wakes up in shock and the door swings open and
Thug 1 comes walking through the other side of the door, Tom
Guilt
freaks out and then it cuts to Tom waking up suddenly
sweating, it was a nightmare.

Scene 5. Int. Gym

6.
Tom is at the boxing gym doing his daily work out, with each
punch it flashed between him punching the bag and Thug 1. He
is clearly suffering with guilt.

Scene 6 int. Bedroom

Tom is sat on his bead with his window wide open, the sound of
building work next door is the only thing you can hear, he is
staring at the carpet, he is focused on the dust molecule’s
flying through the air, he looks worried. He gets up and calls
his mother.

Tom
Hi mum, hope everything’s good, I fucked up… I’ve done
something really, really bad, please call me back I need your
help (voice cracks in sadness and panic) please I need you…

Act 3
Scene 7 Ext. Henley park

Tom is on a run through the countryside, his feet run through

the thick grass, it is slightly windy, the sun is somewhat
out, it is the most peaceful Tom has been in days. He stops
and catches his breath, he puts his hands on his knees to help
him breath, he looks up for a second and in a flash, there is
a quick shot of Thug 1 watching him, and in an instance, he
disappears. Tom is taken back, he whispers to himself

Tom
Not again!

Tom continues to jog, there is a tracking shot of tom running,

he runs past Thug 1 again.

Thug 1
You shouldn’t have killed me!

Tom is shocked, he looks back and there is no one there, he

doesn’t know what to do with himself. He rushes off, as if he
is trying to escape.
Guilt
Scene 8. Int Gym

7.
Tom is at the boxing gym, he is punching a bag repeatedly,
there are sudden flashes of Tom punching Thug 1 overlapping
Tom punching the bag. He can no longer take it, he grabs his
bag and walks out, this is followed by a tracking shot of Tom
rushing out into the countryside, he walks through a field, he
notices a bridge from a far, he starts to walk towards it, he
then gets to the bridge and climbs onto one of the walls. He
looks down to see a deep plummet. He knows if he jumps its
instant death, instant release, once he’s dead he won’t feel
this guilt. He looks down and takes a deep breath, as he is
about to do it, his phone rings… it’s his mother finally
calling him back! Tom takes a step back and gets off the wall,
he answers the phone immediately, we don’t hear the
conversation, but we see Tom is happy, he walks off through
the field with the sun coming down. We watch him walk through
the field with music playing in the background.

The film cuts to black, it isn’t clear what was said between
Tom and his mother or even if they are on good terms, the
music keeps on playing, lurking on a black screen then the
words
