and conventions.

Recommended Book:
1. A Textbook of Engineering Drawing: Along with an Introduction to AutoCAD (2015) by Roop Lal, Ramakant Rana

Course Learning Outcomes:

After successfully completing this course, the students will be able to:

CLO1: Acquire the basic knowledge of drawing skills and CAD drawings by understanding the concept of basic
drawing techniques and use them efficiently (PLO 5).

CLO2: Demonstrate individually the drawing of plan, elevation and cross sections of buildings and machine parts
(PLO 3).

Learning Outcomes Assessment Plan (Tentative):

Laboratory Experiences: There is a Laboratory component in all 3+1 credit courses taught at the department.
Lab work consists of a minimum of 16 experiments and related assignments, which constitute 25% of the overall
course‐ grade. This course familiarizes the students with the design and implementation of different mechanical
system with the help of AutoCAD software.

Laboratory Resources: The relevant laboratory is equipped with workbenches and components to facilitate the
experiments outlined in the lab handbook(s) that are periodically updated. A current list of the 16 lab experiments
performed in this course is also attached. The list of software and equipment available is also posted in all labs
and is managed by staff dedicated for this purpose.
