1. Name of company: iDfreshfood (iD Fresh Food)

2. Year of incorporation: iD was founded in 2005, by 5 cousins, with a 50sqft store & 1 big
dream - to ensure that people the world over get access to fresh, nutritious & delicious
Indian food.

3. Founding members: ID Fresh Food, a private limited company, was founded in 2005 by
P.C Mustafa and his four cousins - Abdul Nazer, Shamsudeen TK, Jafar TK, and Noushad
TA.

4. Seed capital: The company was established with the capital of ₹50,000 by Mustafa.
Mustafa holds 50 percent share in the company, and his four cousins hold the rest.

5. Place of business: With an unwavering vision to preserve traditional, home-made cuisine &
a focus on making the process of cooking fun & effortless, iD today serves homes across
India, UAE & the US. iD started small in a tiny shop in Tippasandra, Bangalore.

6. Core products:

 Natural food: (idli & dosa batter, malabar parota, natural paneer, rice rava idly
batter, wheat parota, wheat chapati, instant filter coffee liquids, squeeze and fry vada
batter, grated coconut in a coconut, smart sip tender coconut and natural thick curd. )

 Organic food: ( organic idly & dosa batter, organic malabar parota and organic ragi
idly & dosa batter.)

7. Journey: PC Mustafa is an entrepreneur who is CEO & cofounder of a company called ID


Fresh Food. The company employed more than 2000 younger from ruler India to feed
millions of Indians healthy and preservative-free Idli and Dosa batter including other foods
on a daily basis. According to TiE Chennai, in 2018, The ID Fresh Food was1000 crore
brand. The company promises to put home-made meals on dinging table all over south
India, west India, Dubai, US, and Abu Dhabi.

Seeing business growth PC Mustafa invested more than six lack for in 800 sq. ft new land
and get more machines. But it was not enough money for business, in 2008, once again he

invested 40 lakhs and shifted the company in the Hoskote Industrial area Bangalore. Soon
his business was becoming more popular so he decided to start a business in other countries.
Today he is providing packed healthy foods in the US, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In March
2018, one of his family office of billionaire Azim Premji invested 25 million dollars into the
company for an undisclosed minority stake.

The company has achieved a turnover of 100 crore in 2015-16. ID Fresh Foods expects to
end this fiscal with Rs 286 crore turnover from ₹182 Crore in 2017-18. The company
expects the turnover as ₹350-400 crore in 2019-20.

8. Success mantra: PC Mustafa has the vision to become a fresh food brand all across the
world. Natural and Organic Homemade Instant Foods, the food is made in a kitchen and not
in a laboratory.

9. Intellectual Properties: There exits various types of Intellectual Properties, but in this case
the company has the Copyright over its website on domain name www.idfresh.in, and
Trademark on its logo. The company has reserved its proprietary rights and in case there is
an unauthorised use of the same by someone else it may be penalized. Idfresh has also
applied for patent for its Vada.

10. Innovation in business: The Company made idli and dosa batter for customers just the way
they made at home. Soon, the packets were flying-off the shelves because people loved the
healthy, preservative-free batter, and the company also realised the demand for healthy and
organic food growing, to cater that requirement they expended into organic food as well.

11. Problem of consumer they focused at: Consumer perception was that the food which is
pre packed is not safe or fresh to consume, but the company tried to change the perception
of customers by providing fresh and natural food to them in a packet which can be made
and consume easily without much hustle.

12. Meaning of trademark: The term trademark has been defined in the Trademark Act, 1999
which states that "trade mark" means a mark capable of being represented graphically and
which is capable of distinguishing the goods or services of one person from those of others
and may include shape of goods, their packaging and combination of colours. In simple
language trademark can be referred to any mark which helps in distinguishing goods and
services of one with those of others. Trademark plays an important economic role from the
view point of the Business houses but also helps the consumers in distinguishing and the
selecting the appropriate brand. In India registration of Trademark is not mandatory
however it is always advisable to registered the mark as it provides better protection.
