1.0 INTRODUCTION

An archive is a collection of historical documents or the physical location where

they are kept. Primary source papers acquired throughout the course of a person's or
organization's existence are retained in archives to demonstrate the function of that person
or organisation. Archives are documents that have been naturally and inevitably formed
as a result of regular legal, commercial, administrative, or social operations, according to
professional archivists and historians. They are distinguished from texts that have been
purposefully produced or generated to impart a specific message to posterity, and have
been figuratively defined as "secretions of an organism."
They serve as the nation's memory first and foremost, allowing a society to
prepare intelligently for the future based on knowledge of the past. The archives keep
track of the government's obligations and pledges, as well as documentation of citizens'
rights and entitlements. The archives hold a wealth of information about individuals,
organisations, social and economic development, natural phenomena, and events, making
them essential primary source material for writing about all aspects of American history.
The archives, as a source of national history, can have a significant impact on people's
knowledge of it and their feeling of national identity.

3.3 Intended Audience
The writers have focused their attention on students and researchers as the
appropriate audience for this paper. This article will provide this audience with new
information on how the robot structured the archive without the need of people. In
order for the viewers, they can be able to gain fresh knowledge from this article.
3.4 General Problem Area
For the general problem area in this article, the authors have mentioned the
importance of robots in the archive. This is because it can help the organization in the
archives organize the materials in the archive easily. They believe that while
accessing archives in the archived repository, they should change archive shelves and
install auxiliary devices. To address this problem, they developed an archival access
robot that may be used to autonomously move, identify, and access archives in an
existing archive repository. The robot consists of a mobile chassis, robot arm, lifting
column, manipulator, camera, archive bin, and industrial personal computer (PC),
which communicates with the individual modules and performs tasks such as
navigation, archive identification, deposit, and removal of archives from archive
shelves, allowing archives managers to work more efficiently while also encouraging
the construction of unattended archives repositories and the expansion of the archives
equipment bus.
3.5 Objectives Or Purpose

2
The objective of this article is to show how archives that use robots instead of
people can significantly increase productivity without having to change the structure
of archive shelves or installation tracks. Furthermore, deploying robots to handle
archives jobs allows archives administrators to operate more efficiently while also
supporting the development of unattended archives repositories and the expansion of
archives business equipment.

The rest of the paper is laid out as follows. The general design of the robot is
presented in Section 2. The navigation module of the robot is introduced in Section 3,
which includes design ideas and navigation algorithms. The hardware design and
software algorithms for the robot's archive access capability are introduced in Section
4. The attributes of the robot and the experimental findings are presented in Section 5,
and the paper is concluded in Section 6.

3.6 Language
The authors utilise neutral language throughout this paper. The audience was
able to grasp and comprehend all of the terminology they used. This article has a lot
of useful vocabulary that will help the audience increase their vocabulary as well. The
readers can comprehend the sentence structure for this article, and they can narrow
down the issues one by one. Finally, the author maintained neutrality in their use of
words and terms in this paper. As a result, the authors' descriptions of the ideas in this
article are not overly emotional. This totally can help the readers or audience, easy to
understand their issues in this article especially about how the robot handles the
archive.
3.7 Reference Given
The authors had provided footnotes at the end of the pages for the references
given. It tries to ensure that readers or audiences can easily reprint this material by
providing a link to their website, www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/licensing/
reprints.htm, or by contacting them for more information at
permissions@emeraldinsight.com. This resource can aid new users, particularly
students, by providing additional information about their articles.
3.8 Expected Results
The system was evaluated for navigation in the archive storage room lanes as
well as inside all of the archive shelves, according to the authors, which explains the
expected results. The database on the industrial tablet stores the location of shelves

3
and the number of layers. The robot goes from the beginning point to the location of
the target shelf using sensors 0, 3, 4, 7 and 8 in Figure 4, then enters or exits the
shelves using sensors 1, 2, 5 and 6 in Figures 6 and 7. The status of the robot as it
walks along the aisles and inside the archive storage room's shelves is seen in Figure
22.
The robot moves down the centre line of the aisle and into the frame. We
developed a PID algorithm to ensure the robot's safety while moving, guaranteeing
that data from two sensors pointing in the same direction is immediately synced to
correct the robot's position. Figure 23 shows the data curves of sensors 1 and 2 during
the orientation adjustment method, proving that the robot can be posed in under 1
second. The following are the results of the navigation experiments: the robot can
complete the movement within the aisle and the shelf without human intervention
with a movement error of less than 3 cm; during the navigation process, if an obstacle
blocked the robot or the robot was unable to enter the shelf, the robot would alert the
staff.
3.9 Illustration
For the illustration in this article, the authors had used a good illustration. They
preview one by one of the pictures of the robot shelves to make sure the audience
easily understands the information that they want to disseminate and share. So even
their audience is not able to see the robot shelves face to face, by looking at the
previews or illustrations in this article, they can easily imagine and understand that
robot shelves. Moreover, in all the illustrations that they preview in this article, the
authors also provided the explanation and symbol at the illustration. This article can
be categorized as the article with the best method to present their information.
3.10 Major Findings
Author’s major findings in this article are that the robot can move, identify and
access multiple archival copies placed on floors 1–6 and 2–5 cm thick autonomously
without modifying the archival repository or using auxiliary devices. These major
findings have been supported by the author’s analysis and evidence of their robot
shelves at the archives repositories.
3.11 Accomplish Objective
The authors of this article have succeeded in achieving their goals. This is
because when they test their robot shelves, they find that they can be used and
function well. Furthermore, the navigation experiments revealed that the robot can

4
complete the movement within the aisle and the shelf without human intervention
with a movement error of less than 3 cm during the navigation process and they get if
an obstacle blocked the robot or the robot was unable to enter the shelf, the robot
would alert the staff. As a result, this robot shelf is effective in archive repositories
and the authors have achieved their main objectives.
3.12 Suggestions

4.0 SIGNIFICANT TO ARCHIVE ADMINISTRATION

Archives are significant because they provide proof of actions and provide
information about individuals and organisations, as we all know. They are storytellers.
They also strengthen our feeling of self and cultural awareness. They are even capable of
ensuring justice. Because records aren't frequently made for the aim of historical research,
they tend to be less biassed than secondary sources.
Furthermore, robotics is a crucial aspect of a company's or organization's
operations to guarantee that all procedures operate smoothly and are sufficiently
automated. Most organisations include an archive that wonders what the goal of robots is
without investigating its application. Automation is critical for ensuring that your

5
production quality increases and your archives boost their productivity. The authors also
explained that, if they applied the robots in the archives, it can help the workers in
handling the records. With this situation, they do not need to use many workers in their
archive because all works can totally be done by the robot shelves only and it can make
the management in the archive run smoothly.
5.0 CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the author implemented a robot for accessing archives in the
archive storage room of various thicknesses and placement forms, which eliminates the
problem of existing robots having to change archival shelves or install auxiliary devices
when accessing archives. The robot can travel independently according to the navigation
algorithm, and it can grasp archives of various levels by combining the robot arm with the
lifting column and attaching the robot hand at the end; it can also detect the spatial
location and thickness of the archives thanks to the image processing method.
Furthermore, the archive bin is utilised to store a large number of archives quickly and
intelligently.
