1. Comprehensively discuss the following:
A. the role of literature in the teaching-learning process (in the
Philippine context)
Literature is the most effective technique to educate students to
read, write, and exercise comprehension skills. Literature is defined as
books and other written materials. Using Literature demonstrates to
children the importance of books and the fact that we can learn a lot
from them.
Literature has a vital role in the teaching-learning process and the
formation of children's personal development because the reader
develops an emotional attachment to the literary piece, which has
favorable effects on personal growth and the learning process.
The K-12 curriculum guide content in Teaching English in the
Philippine Educational System highlights the importance of integrating
Literature into the teaching-learning process to increase students'
comprehension of their literary heritage, literary concepts, and literary
skills.

B. the impact of literature on nation-building

Literature has a good prospect as a tool for nation-building or as a
means of political ideology and self-determination; The history of any
nation's Literature is intertwined with the nation's history; One of the
reasons is that the issue of standard language arises during the
process of forming a government, and Literature plays a crucial part
in the establishment of both the national state and the common
language.
Literature reflects the life of the people and their race or a country
at a specific period in time. Literature is most commonly applied in art
and is employed to convey a tale, illustrate an era, or teach a
literature lesson. In this instance, Literature either transcends or is
engulfed by history. In addition, Literature is a weapon in waging a
political struggle for freedom. It is a powerful medium for increasing
social order and nation-building through works of social critics.
National Literature evolves as a social institution from the daily
activities of individuals who live in a particular location. Based on this
evidence, social institutions and individual psychology are aspects
ready to be portrayed through literary forms and contents. This power
permits Literature to play a significant, and in some circumstances,
decisive, part in creating a nation. It is well recognized that every
country confronts a fight, usually a war, throughout its journey to
independence; it must cope with the social institutions to begin
developing its cultural identity. As a result, national Literature's
emergence becomes critical to meeting the community's desires.
When we place our country's experiences in a historical context,
we can see that developing appropriate forms to represent the
contents connected to its nature, urbanity, religiosity, individual and
social psychologies, and other manifestations took some time. As
recorded in Literature, the most significant milestones in Philippine
history have contributed to the country we know today.
C. the relationship of literary appreciation and the English language.
Literature is an essential part of the curriculum in many schools
worldwide because it allows students to construct meaningful
surroundings full of descriptive language interpretation, engaging
characters, and literary appreciation. It helps students develop their
imagination, cultural awareness, and critical thinking skills as they
consider narratives, themes, characters, and the context of a literary
work. As a result, incorporating Literature into the English language
entails a broad spectrum of word acquisition, dialogue, prose, and
literary appreciation.
Students can learn reading, writing, speaking, listening, and
viewing skills in the K-12 Curriculum Guide in Teaching English as a
Language through the use of Literature. Teaching English as a
language through Literature helps students acquire sensitivity, self-
awareness, appreciation, literary interpretation, analysis, and a
broader understanding of the world and other people.
