What does job-skills mismatch imply about the relevance of schools to present society/ are school’s effective agents of socialization in preparing Filipino graduates for their job roles? Explain your answer. ANS: It has been said that education is a societal feature, and that school is a societal institution. Society strives to sustain itself, and in order to do so, it retains its roles and structures, one of which is education, in order to ensure its longevity, prosperity, and comfort. Schools offer career counseling to help students identify their talents and attributes and consider how they line up with various career opportunities, allowing them to contribute to society by performing their duties. It is the school, according to John Dewey, that introduces and trains the child into membership in the spirit of service. “We shall have the deepest and strongest guarantee of a greater community that is worthy, harmonious, and lovely,” he said. Socialization is a lifelong process, and school is a successful agent of socialization in preparing Filipino graduates for job roles, since education is typically viewed as influencing society through the socialization of individuals. That is why we have educational institutions that assist us in the development of human resources by training graduates for unique job roles based on their expertise and capabilities. Anticipatory socialization refers to role learning that prepares us for future roles. As a result, most of us are more or less prepared for future roles such as partner, parent, and professional instructor.
