According to an article I read, the Philippines' low ranking in Science in the 2018 Programme for

International Student Assessment (PISA) test is due to the country's strong relationship between
students' socio-economic status and their performance in school. A particular study also found that
disadvantaged students were clustered in certain schools in the Philippines and countries like Belarus,
Hungary, Peru, and Slovakia. Secretary Briones addressed the situation in this regard issue. In her
remarks at the opening of the Sulong Edukalidad Program, she said that the first is to ensure that all
students have access to primary education, and the second is the transition to quality education,
particularly in terms of students' learning outcomes. In launching the Sulong Edukalidad Program,
Briones indicated that KITE would be one of Sulong Edukalidad's four core reform areas: (1) K to 12
Curriculum review and update; (2) Improvement of the learning environment (3) Teachers' upskilling
and reskilling; and (4) Engagement of stakeholders for support and collaboration. Briones added that the
centre of the Sulong Edukalidad Program is the Filipino learners, to help them achieve their full
potential, for their kite of dreams to fly high through quality primary education.

5 LEARNING ACTIVITIES THAT CAN HELP DEVELOP APPLICATION AND CONNECTION DOMAIN OF SCIENCE

the learning of scientific information and science process skills are also enhanced from real-world
connections draw from oropan actual objects events experiences and situations to effectively address a
concept problem or issue it allows students to actually experience or practice concepts and skills as
opposed to learning that is only theoretical or idealistic through connecting the concepts in science to
the real world students can relate to it find it relevant in their lives and even provide benefits for
students their families and the community all of the content that students learn in science are actually
relevant to real life as science teachers you need to be able to make your learners see how they can
apply what they are learning in the actual world that is why it is best if the learners can be given
opportunities to apply their newfound knowledge hands-on if possible now there are times when
students may not be able to connect a lesson to their life right away because they have not experienced
it a virtual or simulated experience with the help of technology can help you provide the necessary
connection and applications on what is being learned
