Introduction

Installing and Maintaining Computer Hardware

The benefits and implication of installing an SSD over an HDD

An SSD is much more faster than a HDD as a HDD is slower

 Benefits
1. SSDs are faster
2. faster boot times
3. large storage
 Implications
1. SSDs are Expensive
2. A HDD are slow
3. It has slow boot times

The benefits and implications of North Wiltshire Environmental installing and

maintaining hardware themselves

 Benefits

The first benefit of north Wiltshire environment is that they can chose how to maintain there
own handwear

 Implications
The first implication of north Wiltshire environment things might not be perfect and help
contribute to global warming

1
Review of how installing and maintaining hardware for one technology system could
impact an individual or an organization.

If one of the PCs has the wrong hardware installed in it then it might boot but won’t work as
they want it to and it could ruin the software that the company is using. It could also cost the
company a lot of money to get it fixed and working properly.

Dell OptiPlex 3020

 Strengths: good pc for 1080p res

 Weaknesses: it is old and slow there are better pcs out there

Intel Core i5-4590

 Strengths: high speed processor for its time

 Weaknesses: is slow and old compared to a 12 th gen 19

4gb drr3 ram

 Strengths: high ram speed for its time

 Weaknesses: is slow and old and DDR 4 16gb minimum is better

500gb 5400rpm

 Strengths: good storage for its time

 Weaknesses: is slow and old 1tb SSD is way better and faster

DVD burner drive

 Strengths: portable can move whenever and wherever

 Weaknesses: can be slow and streaming is better

 Weaknesses: slow and old needs an upgraded CPU

2gb ddr2 ram

 Strengths: usable and works

 Weaknesses: old and probably doesn’t work definitely due an upgrade
