SEASON 1 SUMMARY

Our goal for Season 1 was to build a strong coffee community with a mission of
opening the first NFT funded café space in NYC. The project owners were given
voting rights for critical decisions and lifetime caffeinated perks like discounted
coffee through our website (coffeebros.com) and future café spaces.
We created 60 caffeine-loving NFT characters to help us achieve this goal.
Our characters were placed into three rarity levels, which allowed us to vary mint
counts and pricing. We had 455 mints across the 60 characters, with our highest
primary sale at 2.783 ETH.

By the Numbers

Community:
We built a Discord community of 20,000 strong, a Twitter following of 10,000, and
many more across Instagram and email. Our caffeine-loving community grew out
of the love of coffee, art, innovation, and the desire for us all to build something
together.
Money Raised:
We were able to raise $200k in 4 months to help us achieve our goal of opening
the first NFT funded café space in NYC. The money raised will help with construc-
tion and the conceptualization of how to tie the digital world with the physical.
Our focus is around innovation which is why a portion of proceeds will explore how
to tie the MetaVerse and our real-life experience together.
Sustainability Efforts:
At the close of Season 1, we planted 2,275 trees with One Tree Planted and offset
all our carbon emissions from our transactions with Nori.
We plan on continuing these efforts into Season 2 with a goal of 3,500 trees
planted.
What We Learned:
In a short four months, we learned that the Crypto Baristas project is more sig-
nificant than our initial vision of having an IRL experience with an eventual tie to
the metaverse. With the community and engagement around this project, we feel
we can have a more significant impact on coffee, which will be the focus of our
Season 2 offer.
Season 2 will directly tie back to our desire for a more sustainable world and one
that positively impacts the lives and environments in coffee-producing countries.
Our vision for Season 2 will impact coffee supply chains, double down on sus-
tainability, and improve the livelihoods of coffee-growing communities. We vow to
shed light on issues within the industry, such as producer pay, labor inequities,
and climate change.

We are excited to share our Season 2 plans with you and urge you to read on.
SEASON 2 INTRODUCTION

Consumers need to start thinking

more about transparency and
we want to lead that change in a
modern way.
As our community continues to grow, we want to build stronger and more sus-
tainable connections with local, coffee-growing communities and strengthen the
economies and the ecosystems of the countries where our coffees originate.
One area that can improve our business model is direct trade, where we will
control the farmgate price or the price that coffee farmers receive for their coffee.
Direct trade will mitigate a challenge that we learned early on: transparency is not
guaranteed without boots on the ground. For coffee to continue as a crop, produc-
ers must be paid appropriately for their laborious work and tedious care for the
environment.

The goal is to have a direct relationship with said partner farm, have a unique
coffee as a differentiator among other cafes and roasters, and directly impact
social and environmental concerns around eco-efficiency in the coffee-producing
country—in this case, Honduras.

Coffee Bros. looks to leverage the Crypto Baristas project to invest in said farm's
processing and postharvest capabilities to improve the underlying crop and begin
submitting coffee to competitions like the Cup of Excellence.
THE CREATORS

Dan Hunnewell Nick Hunnewell Tony Bui

Coffee Bros.
Coffee Bros. is a coffee roastery based in NYC that focuses on
full-spectrum and specialty coffees. Their passion is to address sus-
tainability in the coffee industry through contributing to organizations
like One Tree Planted, Grounds for Health, and World Coffee Research.

Crypto Baristas
Crypto Baristas is the Coffee Bros. NFT project. Crypto Baristas was
created to help scale the Coffee Bros. business model and establish
a unique community in web3 of art and coffee lovers. As an extension
to the Coffee Bro’s mission, the Crypto Baristas’ mission also includes
addressing sustainability, social responsibility, and environmental
impacts in a parallel trajectory and on a larger scale.

Tony Bui
Tony was born in Northern California in the 80s, a time when cereal
and cartoons ruled his Saturday mornings. All Tony's work is character
driven. Every character he creates and designs is a new friend that
he's made along the way. His sense of design is heavily inspired by
graphic elements and clean shapes. Tony takes that same concept
and applies it to non-character work to bring every design to life.
THE GOAL

Crypto Baristas is looking to

partner with an established
farm in Honduras to invest
and improve on the farm and
producer's operations through
transparency, sustainability,
processing improvements, and

.
working toward winning the Cup
of Excellence in Honduras
AREA OF FOCUS

Sustainability
Our sustainability efforts will directly tie back to the mission of establishing a trans-
parent farmgate price for our partner farm in Honduras. Our efforts will expand be-
yond simple "fair trade" pricing and paying above market value for coffee. Sustain-
ability also means ensuring long-term success for the farm and producers through
direct investment in their processing and working with them to achieve the ultimate
accolade in coffee—winning the Cup of Excellence.

Coffee served at the physical Coffee Bros. locations will be sourced from our part-
ner farm. The coffee will hold the highest level of transparency because we will
display the farmgate price and production costs. The more often this type of "data"
is surfaced, marketed, and pushed for by consumers, the higher the likelihood it will
be adopted by other coffee companies.

OUR APPROACH TO SUSTAINABILITY

AREA OF FOCUS

Social Responsibility
Our social responsibility efforts are to improve payment structures and the
physical and mental health of those who work on the farm.

Latest statistics from the International Labor Organization (www.ilo.org):

• Average coffee wages are far below average country wages and lower than
the average wages paid in the agricultural sector.
• Women in the coffee sector earn substantially less than men.
• Labor-intensive jobs can push beyond 50-hours a week
• Major safety concerns from; long working hours, stress, sun exposure,
musculoskeletal injuries, and hearing loss.

INVESTMENT GOALS WILL FOCUS ON

Salary Healthcare Necessities

Pay livable wages to full time Create a yearly community Provide all essential services
and seasonal workers healthcare fund for those that to permanent and temporary

WHY HONDURAS

Honduras has the prized Gesha

varietal, which is not common among
coffee-producing countries.
We chose Honduras due to our great appreciation of coffee produced from there. We
first experienced Honduran coffee when sampling the 2019 Cup of Excellence lots. We
cupped through thirty of the top Honduran coffees, six of which scored an unbelievable
90+ points. Honduras has the prized Gesha varietal, which is not common among cof-
fee-producing countries. The Gesha varietal is one extreme example of a coffee species
that is highly sought after due to its high cup quality and delicate taste notes. The Gesha
variety originated in the coffee forests of Ethiopia and slowly made its way to Panama,
where it gained most of its recognition.

Latest statistics from the World Bank in Honduras (www.worldbank.org):

• Honduras is a low-middle-income country that faces significant challenges, with
more than 66 percent of the population living in poverty in 2016.
• One in five Hondurans in rural areas lives in extreme poverty, earning less than
$1.90 per day.
• Coffee accounts for 10 percent of Honduras' GDP. Still, with prices in free fall and
crops decimated by rusts linked to warmer temperatures brought on by climate
change, Hondurans are seeing their livelihoods wiped out.
AREA OF FOCUS

Coffee Production
Our goal is to produce the #1 ranked coffee in Honduras. A large portion of the
investments on the farm will go toward coffee production and post-harvest processing
methods.
The area of focus is two-fold. Our goal is to produce the highest-scoring coffee that
the farm can achieve through new and innovative processing methods that will allow
us to compete in highly visible coffee competitions. The investments and accolades
from winning a coffee competition will ultimately drive up the product's value, increase
the farmgate price, and provide additional funding toward social and environmental
initiatives.

INVESTMENT GOALS WILL FOCUS ON

Processing Equipment Development

AREA OF FOCUS

Environmental Impact
In the last 30 years, the growing demand for coffee has led to a 60% increase in production,
leading to countless environmental issues throughout the coffee-producing world.

Major concerns in water usage and deforestation have led to our focus areas when looking
at the environmental impact of this initiative. Our focus will be to continue reforestation
efforts across the coffee-producing world (with One Tree Planted) and double down on the
same goals at our partner facilities.

AREA OF FOCUS

Alternative Monetary Streams

Finally, our investments will also provide alternative revenue streams or monetary val-
ue for our partner farm by leveraging the surrounding area.
Often discarded, the coffee cherry (cascara) has the potential for an increased reve-
nue stream for the partner farm. There is an increasingly growing market for cascara,
the dried peels of coffee cherries used for alternative drinks like cascara teas and cold
brews.
Further, coffee flowers can be used for "coffee blossom honey," which has also been
gaining momentum in the specialty coffee world as an alternative flavoring for coffee.

CHALLENGES

The most challenging aspect of this

endeavor is finding, assessing, and
partnering with the right farm that
is both visionary and with similar
aspirations.
The most challenging aspect of this endeavor is finding, assessing, and partnering with a
producer who is both a visionary and has similar aspirations.
To successfully locate a farm to invest in, we will need to partner with organizations that have
boots on the ground. Our target partner for finding a farm to invest in would be working with
the Cup of Excellence. The Cup of Excellence has hundreds of relationships with farmers in
locations we are looking to evaluate and would be an excellent resource for this project.
Using their expertise may help us find and acquire a partnership with a farm looking for an
investment and is already competing in the Cup of Excellence and looking to grow within the
competition.
We can also utilize our existing relationships with other coffee producers worldwide as potential
means for partnership.

Enhancing Production:
We will need to lean heavily on expert consultants to help evaluate and enhance the post-
harvest processing methods currently used at the farm. We have narrowed down a preliminary
list of consultants on the cutting edge of coffee processing. Their purpose will be to work with
the farm on refining processes and bringing their coffees to award-winning standards.
Operations:
Another area that will need attention is importing coffee from Honduras. We are leveraging
existing contacts within the industry that can assist with this piece, but we are currently and
actively building out sustainable options to import that make sense.

As with Season 1, Crypto Baristas Season 2 will continue offsetting carbon production
with Nori. Nori assesses our carbon production from our NFT offering and provides us with
the tools to offset all carbon emissions.

For Season 2, Crypto Baristas plans include planting 3,500 or 13 hectares of trees. We
have also committed to similar efforts on the coffee side of our business, Coffee Bros.

"Based on our carbon calculation methodology, there's a range between 4.5 and 40.7
tons of Carbon Dioxide removed per year per hectare during the first 20 years of tree
growth." - One Tree Planted
