Without media, Globalization is impossible.

(Word Count: 340)

Technology and the rapid growth of media, which constantly drive globalization,

are undeniably transforming our world. Media has been used for a long time since it is

less expensive and reaches a large audience and market base. "The mass media are

considered today as having a crucial role in furthering globalization, allowing cultural

interchange and numerous flows of information and image across nations via worldwide

news broadcasts, television programming, new technology, movies, and music." (Matos,

2012)

Media has global implications. "Economic peaks and valleys are far from leveling

out to provide equitable opportunity, according to several economists, who remarked

that innovation, economic activity, and population continue to congregate in physically

favorable regions. Chinese cities like Shanghai and Beijing, which are renowned for

their ingenuity and might, are poles apart from the misery that many of the country's

poorest citizens must suffer." (Lumen, 2020). In general, the media are diverse, yet they

may also be false in many instances. Media Globalization creates an oligopoly in the

media business, where just a few corporations control or dominate. Big business's

monopoly on the media reduces competition, which in turn reduces the quality of

service provided to all customers.

While technical globalization refers to the global growth and trade of technology,

media globalization refers to a worldwide integration of media. As a result of the growth

of global commerce, cultural interchange, and the ability to connect with one another,

the media sector has had a significant impact. Cultural globalization is influenced by the

media in two interrelated ways: Secondly, they help build communication networks and

social structures by widely disseminating cultural items throughout the world.

There are several pros and disadvantages to media's role in globalization, which

has emerged during the last few years. Using the media as a state is ideal for

globalization, since it helped to promote commerce without contributing in the

establishment of political boundaries. The media is partly to blame for the strong cultural

interchange and interaction that has developed on a worldwide scale as a result of

mass media.
