INTRODUCTION

MRF had partnered with other stakeholders to file a Public Interest Litigation Case against all salt
companies. This has increased the level of intimidation to HRDs including key petitioners to the PIL.
Recently, courtesy to the salt extractive industries, the CSR committee has been going round instilling
bad blood to the general public. They held meetings with the communities in selected areas within the
Magarini Salt Belt. They claimed that companies had decided to stop funding community projects since
they had been taken to court. This was aimed to divide the community.

As a result, MRF organized meetings with community members from Marereni (Krystalline Salt),
Kadzuhoni (Kensalt LTD) in order to share security management tips as there was a clear indication of a
risk to sabotage the PIL Case.
