Q:WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF ESTABLISHING GOOD RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR KINS?WHAT ARE
DIFFERENT REASONS FOR WHICH WE SHOULD BE DUTIFUL TO OUR KINS?

ANSWER

KINSHIP:

Kinship is basically a system of social relationships between the people based on blood or marriage like
it include both biological or non biological relationships.

As William Golding said:

“There is a kinship among men who have sat by a dying fire and measured the

The worth of their life by it”.

It is basically refer as a social organization based on a network of relations established by geological

connections and social ties modelled.

FAMILY:

A family is basically group of people who consider themselves as related through kinship as we can say

that they can be by blood marriage or adoption.

In family basically people live together, they basically share family wealth and property, rely on one

Another for emotional support ,pool labor and resources to support the family and live united
among themselves.

TYPES OF KINSHIP:

There are three types of kinship:

1-Affinal kinship

The bond of marriage is called affinal kinship, marriage basically creates a host of relationships which are

basically called as a affinal kins.as after the marriage a lots of new relations emerges like the person not

only becomes the husband and wife but also become brother and sister in law and vice versa.

As Janson Priestly said:

“ I am from Canada and my wife is fromSt.Albans, so i feel a great kinship with the

Brites”

When we married to someone the cast not matters basically the relationships matters a lot.
2-consanguineous kinship:

The bond of blood is basically called as consanguineous kinship .the bond between parents and children

and that we say between siblings is consanguineous kinship. It basically include all the relations which

arev related to each other through blood like we can say that they have same forefather blood and

they shares same ancesters .

Example
• Son
• Brother
• Sister
• Uncle
• Nephew
• Cousin

These are all the relations which are related through blood.

They are basically determined through local socio-cultural system.

When we are talking about families it basically comprises of three parts :

• NUCLEAR FAMILY
Mother+father+children
• EXTENDED FAMILY
It basically includes three or more grnerations of a family ,descent groups.
• DESCENT GROUPS
It basically composed of the people claiming the common ancestry.

AS Bill W.said that:

“Becaues of our kinship in suffering ,our channels of contact have always been
Charged with the language of the heart.”

3-Fictional kinship

In this type of kinship people have neither marriage relationship and nor the blood

relationship but they have the strong relationshipto each other

MEN as a social animal

This type of kinship is also most important because in our daily life we met with different
persons and we have good relation with them we have social intraction with them like if we

work at office we interact with different members of staff ,like in every field of life its our need
to have fictional kinship ,as men is a social animal so sociality is very important for him.
This type basically includes relationships among individuals who recognize kinship obligations
The relationship are not based on the either consanguieal or affinal ties.

AS Sathya Sai Baba said that:

“Serve others for they are reflections of the same intity of which you are

Yourself another reflection.no one of you has any authenticity, except in

Reference to the original.feel always kinship with all creation.”

As our relationship with different countries also included in kinship.without a good relation with
Different countries we cannot establish our economy as we interact to other countries for
import /export or other financial aids etc.

As walter Benjamin said:

“languages are not strangers to on another”

As DwightD.Eisenhower said:

“kinship among nations is not determined in such measurements as

Proximity of size and age.rather we should turn to those inner things-call
Them what you will-I mean those intangibles that are the real trrasures
Free men possess.”

DEGREE OF KINSHIP

1-Primary kinship

• Primary consanguineal
• Primary affinal

2-secondary kinship

• Secondary consanguine
• Secondary affinal

3-tertiary kinship

REASONS FOR WHICH WE SHOULD BE DUTIFUI TO OUR KINS

It is very important to maintain the ties of kinship in Islam .Allah doesnot like those who are serving the
ties of kinship.

Allah says in Holy Quran:

“and fear Allahthrough Whom youn demand your mutual(rights),and (do not cut
The relations of) the wombs(kinship)”

Allah Pak emphasizes muslims to be kind and merciful with friends and family in every kind of matters

and dealings.by keeping good relations with friends and family we are supposed to maintain a positive

social impact on society which in result leads to uniting muslims together.

In Holy Quran Allah Said :

“And those who break the covenant of Allah ,after its ratification, and sever that which

Allah has commanded tobejoined, and work mischief inthe land ,on them is the curse

And for them is the unhappy home”

Our Prophet(PBUH) Said:

“The one who serve the ties with relatives no be among the first to enter

Paradise, rather this person will enter it after being tortured in hell fire”

In short we should make good relations with our family and friends for making peaceful society to live in
this world.May Allah give us strength to keep good relations with our friends and family!Ameen Sum-e-
