“Full story of Gang Control Bilibid Prison in Manila”

Gang is a group of society of associates, friends or members of a family with a defined

leadership and internal organization that identifies with or claims control over territory in a
community and engages, their individually in illegal and possibly violent behavior. From the
video hosted by Mr. Lou Ferrante, he shows and explain some happenings and differences of
the gangs inside and outside the Jail. He interviews some gang member and also the leader and
the boss. He went to the place where the gangs is located, even though it is not safe to be with
the gang he follow and continue asking some question for his video. It was said there that their
gang is for their safety and also their protection to their enemy. They also explain how to
become one of them and there is two ways. First choice is you will be beaten by the gang and if
you are a girl you to choose if you want to gang rape or beaten. There is also an actual video
which someone want to be one of them. He also goes inside the jail where he met the boss of
the gang who is Jaybee Sebastian. Mr.Lou asked Jaybee how thet operates inside and outside
the jail. Javbee Sebastian also tour Mr. Lou from the office and compound of their gang which is
Sigue Sigue Commando.
The New Bilibid Maximum Prison is the Biggest prison. There are 12 Gangs that inside
the jail with separate dormitory. To make sure these prisoners don’t riot, the BuCor give the
head of the gang power to enforce the rules on their own members. But it doesn’t excuse them
the obligation of serving their own term in prison. The prison head also give prisoners many
personal freedoms in order to keep the tension low. Rights to own a business inside and to
smoke inside. They live even better lives than poor people in the streets. These system allows
the gang s to have their own spheres of influence, dirty money and power. But with this such
few manpower, bilibid guards are powerless to stop them.
The video show that the life of being in prison is the same being outside. They have
freedom there, they can play sports, do their vices and some things they can do outside the
prison. The only difference is the prison has an obligation of serving their term in prison. Gangs
has a purpose which they protect or keep them safe from enemy and help others from their
enemy. Some gang group has a positive or good purpose to the community but some has only
want to fight and be a criminal.
