millennials want to know, read, understand, and then speak our minds
about it. That is where social media comes into play. Social media is
not limited to blogging and sharing pictures, there are lot of strong
tools also that social media provides. That is because that the
impact of social media is very high and far reaching. It can make or
break images.

One of the social media platforms that I mostly spend my time

with is TikTok. TikTok is a short video creation application that
allows users to sing, dance, act, or mime audio clips or pre-recorded
songs. has become one of the most successful apps in the world.
TikTok has over 500 million active users worldwide and was one of
the most downloaded apps both in iOS and android. Young people
crave micro-entertainment and short bursts of distraction. This is
one of the main appeals of TikTok. Videos are fun, short, and trendy.
We can follow other accounts and create a feed of new content from
the creators we enjoy most. There is also a “For You” feed that
shows a random assortment of videos from others. TikTok is also
ideally optimised to create memes. People can re-purpose audio
footage from other videos and create a unique take on someone
else’s idea. It has become the newest platform for turning the
average user into viral sensations. Currently one of the most popular
people on TikTok is Loren Gray, who has over 38 million followers. 

The benefits of social media is it enables user to perform

interaction with one another. Various social media sites such as
Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram
allows users to form and spread information. Video calling is an
increasingly appreciated features that allows one to stay in touch
with close ones anytime and anywhere. For instance, “zoom” has
helped me to connect with friends from other countries. Therefore,
staying connected with social networking can be beneficial because it
feels like you are there commutating or working with my family and
friends. Furthermore, I can take classes from e-learning websites
and discuss any doubts using various social media channel. Also, I can
share study materials through social media like Facebook, Instagram
and even WeChat. Another important advantage, of social media is
that it can prove to be a good opportunity to make money. This can
be done by selling clothes, blogging, affiliate marketing and many
more. All these ways are good sources to generate handsome income.

In conclusion, social media is very crucial to students in terms

of education, career, and personal life. Using it productively can be a
tool of immense help, but over usage can become a silent enemy.
Thus, we as users must learn to balance and not control ourselves by
this technology.
