HUMSS 126 Media and Information
Literacy
Audio information and media What is audio information and media? - are materials or
sounds that are transmitted, produced, or received thru high-fidelity waves that are heard thru
certain equipment. What are the characteristics and uses of audio information and media?
First, it is ideal for existing music and noise.
Audio Media

 Media communication that uses audio or recordings to deliver and transfer information
through the means of sound
 May refer to audio formats
 may refer to analog tape cassettes and digital cd's, computer files containing audio, in
any number of digital formats
General Objective
The learner understands the similarities and differences of the different types of audio
media and information and gains comprehensive knowledge of how to analyze, design,
develop, implement (utilize) and evaluate them.

Specific Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learner...
 describes the different dimensions of audio media and information;
 evaluates the reliability and validity of audio media and information and its sources;
 utilizes design principles and elements for audio media and information; and
 familiarizes with audio media and information and gains comprehensive knowledge
on how to effectively evaluate them.
Motion Information and Media
- A form of media that has the appearance of moving text and graphics on a display. Its
purpose is to communicate information in multiple ways.
- Motion media in essence is visual media that gives the appearance of movement.
- Motion media can be a collection of graphics, footage, and videos. It is combined with

HUMSS 126 HOPE
1st Hour
Activity 8: (Online/Modular) Choosing Snorkeling Equipment. You are going to snorkel for
the first time and you were also given a budget by your parents to buy all the necessary
equipment for snorkeling. You went to the sports store and saw many choices of masks,
snorkels, and fins.
1. How will you choose your mask?
  - A mask should fit your face underwater without strap pressure being applied, so keep
mask straps loose for maximum comfort. Trying to improve the fit of a mask by tightening
the straps will only lead to discomfort during the dive. The water pressure will hold the mask
against the face once it is sealed on
2. What feature of the snorkel will you be looking for? Why?
- Comfortable mouthpiece, that fits you – not too small or big. Plastic tube with the
proper diameter, length and shape to extend above your head and with smooth, rounded
bends to avoid breathing resistance. Attachment system to your mask strap that's adjustable
for comfort.

3. What kind of fin will you be buying and why?
- Choose full-foot fins that are 20-25 inches long, soft, and flexible. Choose split-fins if
you have the budget for them. Guarantee a comfortable fit by getting a pair of fin socks too.

Lesson 5: Neutral and Social Networks

1st Hour
Learning Task1. Connect Them All
Directions: Tick at least five-item or concepts that emphasize good relationships. Then think
of situations when you applied or experienced such concepts in your family school or
neighborhood.
Concepts Situations applied
Understanding  I am very understanding when it comes to my parent’s rules
for me because I know that it is what's best for me.
Humility When I was an honor student last year, I received my medal
with humility.
Jealousy When my parents bought my brother’s motorcycle I can't avoid
experiencing jealousy but I did not really focus on it since it will bring me no good.
Love Ever since I was born I have always loved my family and as
well as my friends.
Trust I have always trusted God with the things He has in plan for
me.
Greed When I was very hungry, I was very greedy with my food. I
didn't give any to my sister when she asked for them.
Patience  I am very patient whenever we play games. I always wait for
my turn and play fairly.

2nd Hour
Learning Task 2: Why, oh, why?
Imagine how the feeling of joy or anger, as a message, is transmitted from the stimulus to the
spinal cord, the brain, and other concerned parts of the body. Show the facial expression of
joy. Why is the facial expression of joy different from that of anger?
- Because they are two different emotions, anger is when you are mad or want to scream,
and joy is when you are happy or when you want to dance and throw flowers everywhere.
You also get the two emotions from something. Anger may be from being in a fight,
someone took something. Joy is from getting a raise and achieving a goal. The reason their
facial expressions are different is that they are both different emotions and humans are taught
to act like that with those two emotions.

3rd Hour
Performance Task 5: Sketching It Out
Lesson 6: Parallelism between Neural and Social Networks
1st Hour
Direction: In your activity notebook, create a social map showing your own social network.
Follow the sample map of AJ in Figure

2nd Hour
Directions: Name one person in your community that you wish to imitate or make your
inspiration in the near future. Give a few details on the process of how you are going to
achieve or achieve more of what he/she has achieved in life. Include in your brief essay the
social networks that you would be most likely to tap with.
I am inspired by Malcolm inspired me to fall in love with English all over again. His
storytelling is brilliantly insightful, gripping, poignant, and pure fun. At any given week,
most of his books are all on the list of the New York Times bestseller list – and
of course they should be., From showing us how small but specific tipping points can cause
global epidemics to formulate how to formulate determined by your miraculous surroundings

Gladwell made us rethink how influential our .02 second thoughts are as we blink them.
Hweblink the epic tale of David and Goliath to reveal hidden, subtle, and
wondrously ,relevant meaning. His written word is enlightening, entertaining and
empowering.,,, I’ve read some of his books multiple times…for the sheer enjoyment of it. He
told the story of Ketchup vs. Mustard. He revealed the theory of plane crashes and how
to cure graffiti. Like all geniuses, you can agree or disagree with his theories, but by now,
you simply can’t ignore him. And for me, why on earth would you want to?
