The document discusses emerging trends in science education, with a focus on technology-blended pedagogy. It describes how tools like Quiver, Mentimeter, PhET simulations, and mind-mapping software can be used to enhance teaching and learning. Talking books and 3D printing are also mentioned as technologies being implemented. The conclusion advocates for activity-based, hands-on learning approaches and encouraging students to explore emerging trends, while noting teachers can "create wonders" by using technologies positively.

Sub-Theme: 21st Century skills- Shift in teaching learning process.
Title of the Topic:
Raise the rockets (students) with technology blended pedagogy “Reform with Intent, Perform with Integrity, Transform with Intensity must be our approach” Narendra Modi –Honorable Prime Minister of India. This is perfectly applicable to teachers as they work with integrity, complete their task with transparency. Teacher’s shape the next generation with inbuilt values and produce future citizens. For this they need Effective professional development. Professional development is not effective unless the teachers change their traditional instructional pedagogy to technology blended pedagogy. Many emerging technologies are using by some of the teacher community in their teaching learning processes and in Evaluation that are expected to change the frontier of learning of the child. Ex: Quiver, Mentimeter, PhET, Kahoot, Talking books, Smartphone’s, Geogebra, Free plane, free mind like mind mapping tools, Digital textbooks, Artificial intelligence, Augmented Technology, 3D printing, Biometrics, AR Anatomy, Virtual reality etc. These technologies used to support both teaching, learning and evaluation. Many of them are FOSS. (Free and Open source software). Quiver: ❏ Quiver Vision is a 3D augmented reality App. ❏ Quiver Vision app deliver truly magical experiences enjoyed by kids, parents, and educators alike. ❏ “Quiver” is available on all operating systems. ❏ Quiver Education provides the same magical augmented reality coloring experience. ❏ It is used in the languages, Maths and EVS of Primary level and in Science at 6-7th classes. Mentimeter: ❏ Mentimeter is the interactive presentation app. ❏ If we want to make our students feel involved by enabling them to contribute to presentations with smart phones/tabs and to show the results live, Mentimeter is the best interactive version used in the field of Education. ❏ We can pose the questions easily and within a minute or two, we receive the responses from every participant. ❏ This is used for the online voting, multiple choice questions and answers to pose in the classroom in the Formative assessment to get quick responses and minimize the evaluation burden. PhET (Physics Education Technology): ❏ PhET provides Free science and math simulations for teaching STEM topics, including physics, chemistry, biology, and Maths. ❏ A simulation is an approximate imitation of the operation of a process or system; that represents its operation over time. ❏ In each and every simulation many variables are there, we can manipulate the variables and see the results. ❏ PhET is a suite of research-based interactive computer simulations for teaching and learning STEM topics. Free plane or Free mind: ❏ Free plane or Free mind are the mind mapping tools which are available free and open source software. ❏ A mind map is a graphical way to represent ideas and concepts. ❏ It is a visual thinking tool that helps structuring information, helping us to better analyze, comprehend, synthesize, recall and generate new ideas. ❏ Just as in every great idea, its power lies in its simplicity. ❏ We can make our own mind maps and we can export them as pictures also. Talking books Talking books: ❏ We received talking books from UNICEF and we are using these books in the part of READ programme. ❏ An audio book (or talking book) is a recording of a book or other work being read aloud. ❏ Amplio’s digital solution is built around the Talking Book, a rugged, easy-to-use audio device designed for sharing knowledge with low- literate adults and youth. 3D printing, Augmented and virtual reality and Many more Conclusion and implications Some implications are… ❏ Think beyond traditional science teaching, implement STEP (Science Teaching through Experiments and Projects). ❏ Activity based learning (Hands on- minds on). ❏ Positive attitude and temper about science and emerging technologies. ❏ Students explore in to emerging trends in science Education. ❏ With these emerging technologies teacher can create wonders, if he uses them positively and where ever necessary.
