DESCRIBES OF THE FAMOUS BUILDING.


 Hagia Sophia, Istanbul.
Once a church, later a mosque, and now a museum, Hagia Sophia is an
architectural masterpiece. A perfect example of Byzantine architecture, Hagia
Sophia is located in Istanbul, Turkey.

The building was originally constructed between 532AD and 537AD and due to
many factors, including being burned down in riots and earthquakes, the ancient
cathedral has been rebuilt many times since. Despite this, Hagia Sophia is widely
recognised as one of the great buildings of the world. The building also features in
the opening scenes of the Bond film, Skyfall.

HOW DO YOU STAY HEALTHY?

1. You have five digits on each hand and each foot, making 10 fingers and 10 toes
altogether. Can you count to 20 using your fingers and toes?

2. Each bit of our body is made up from cells, which are the tiniest form of life – like
single Lego pieces.
3. The parts of our body need blood in order to work properly – blood transports
the nutrients each cell needs, and takes away any rubbish.

4. The heart keeps blood pumping throughout our body – the heart is one of our
vital organs, which means it helps keep us alive.

5. Parts of your arm include your hand, wrist and elbow.

6. Parts of your leg include your foot, ankle, shin and thigh.

7. The parts of your body that help your arms twist around are called shoulders –
your legs are attached to hips.

8. Your neck allows your head to move from side to side, so you can turn your face
to look at something.

9. Your stomach sits inside your body, just below your chest and lungs, and above
your intestines.

10. Parts of your face include your forehead, eyes, cheeks, ears, nose and mouth.

Cycling. Things to consider include:

Benefits – cycling is weight-bearing activity that is gentle on the joints. It burns


plenty of kilojoules and improves your cardiovascular health. It can also be built
into your day as a means of transport.

Issues to keep in mind – a good quality bicycle can be expensive, although you
don’t have to spend a lot of money on one if you are just starting out. You need to
regularly check your bicycle for signs of wear and tear and fix it if necessary.
Protective equipment (including a helmet) is essential. Be traffic conscious and
plan your route

Running. Things to consider include:


Benefits – running is a weight-bearing activity so it helps to build strong bones. It’s
one of the best ways to increase your cardiovascular fitness and burns lots of
kilojoules.

The need for equipment is minimal, although it is recommended you buy a good
pair of running shoes.

Issues to consider – Running-related injuries can be caused by the heavy load


running places on joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles throughout the body.

Swimming. Things to consider include:

 Benefits – swimming is a low-impact activity. The buoyancy of the water


supports your body so the risk of musculoskeletal injury is small. Swimming
strokes exercise the entire body but particularly the muscles of the back,
chest and arms. Swimming is an ideal form of exercise for most people,
particularly people who are frail, elderly or obese.

 Issues to consider – swimming is a learned skill. You may need to take


swimming lessons if you are a beginner. Swimming is not a weight-bearing
activity, so unlike activities such as walking or running, you will not
strengthen bones or burn as many kilojoules.

Walking. Things to consider include:

 Benefits – walking is an ideal exercise, especially for beginners. It is free,


easy to perform and doesn’t require any special training or equipment apart
from a good pair of shoes and a hat for sun protection. You can walk alone,
with a friend or you can join a local walking group.
 Issues to consider – some people feel unsafe walking the streets alone.
Remember there are alternatives such as walking with a companion or a
walking group.

DESCRIBE PAIN AND HELTH PROBLEMS

Influenza (the flu) is a viral infection of the respiratory tract that spreads easily and
quickly from person to person. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches and pains,
and tiredness. Treatment for flu is mainly to lessen symptoms and provide comfort.
Vaccination is the best means of prevention.

Headaches : Primary headaches are stand-alone illnesses caused directly by the


overactivity of, or problems with, structures in the head that are pain-sensitive. This
includes the blood vessels, muscles, and nerves of the head and neck. They may
also result from changes in chemical activity in the brain. Common primary
headaches include migraines,  cluster headaches , and tension headaches.

Skin cancer ; Except in rare instances, most skin cancers arise from DNA
mutations induced by ultraviolet light affecting cells of the epidermis. Many of these
early cancers seem to be controlled by natural immune surveillance, which when
compromised, may permit the development of masses of malignant cells that begin
togrow into tumors.

Type 1 Diabetes: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease in which the


body’s immune system attacks and destroys the beta cells in the pancreas that
make insulin. Multiple Sclerosis: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease
in which the body´s immune system mistakenly attacks myelin, the fatty substance
that surrounds and protects the nerve fibers in the central nervous system.
Lupus: Systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus) is a chronic, systemic
autoimmunedisease which can damage any part of the body, including the heart,
joints, skin, lungs, blood vessels, liver, kidneys and nervous system.

Patient: Since yesterday.
Doctor: And do you get headaches often?
Patient: A couple of times a month.

Patient: Yes, usually two days or so.
Doctor: How long has this been happening?
Patient: For about a year.
Doctor: Have you seen any other doctors about this?
Patient: No, I haven’t. I just moved here from Spain, and haven’t been to the doctor
before now.
Doctor: Okay, I’ll write you a prescription for some migraine medication, and then
you’ll have to come in next week for some tests.

Patient: Thank you, Doctor.
