Industrial Training Daily Progress Report

1st Day

Name of Department/Section:- Electrical Engineering

Period From :- 10:00AM to 12:00PM and from 2:00PM to 4PM

Content Learnt:

On our very first session on renewable energy resources,we learned about the basics of
different energy resources available, i.e, conventional and non-conventional both.
Then we discussed about the history and modern trends in renewable energy resources and
moreover the advantages of renewable resources over non renewable,and their differences.
As we are more focused to renewable energy resources so we discuss about wind energy
trends in brief,how its started and what changes we brought over few decades in term of
technology and design.
2nd Day

Content Learnt:

On the second day of training we learned about solar energy, what are the components
involved in setting a solar plant and some technical detailing about structure of solar cells
and its working, how modules are connected, how we can measure their power output. We
also covered the factors on which the energy production depends.
3rd Day

Content Learnt:

In third session of our training we came to know about the industrial and commercial need
of solar energy. How we can deal with costumer as being a professional. We also learned
about the ON and OFF grid system and their advantages and disadvantages, which one we
should prefer according to our need. We also discussed about the connections of solar array
and also about the losses.
4th Day

Period From:- 10:00AM to 12:00PM and from 2:00PM to 4PM

Content Learnt:

On our 4th day of training we learned about the site surveying, how location is chosen and
what are the other various important factors in setting up a solar plant. We also came to
know about a case study on solar plant in Hyderabad. We also discussed about the
monitoring techniques like PLC SCADA, and how we can maintain a balance and
continuous supply to grid. They also gave us brief idea about MALAB SIMULINK, how it is
useful in electrical engineering.
5th Day

Content Learnt:

On the 5th day of our training we learned about the detailing of MATLAB SIMULINK, how
we can virtually evaluate and test our system and transform it according to our need.
 OVERALL FEEDBACK

My overall feedback on this online training programme on renewable energy resources is very
positive. I have learned about the various interesting things very precisely and deeply.
Both the faculties are very much interacting and hard working and very good in doubt solving.
Apart from the presentation they also shared their thesis and projects with us which was quiet
good in encouraging for our upcoming future. I would definitely prefer to learn from them in
future if I get chance.
