In this day and age, more and more contemporary attention has been placed on a strictly healthful diet and frequent exercise schedule. In this

essay, I will explain why they are motivated and suggest how to encourage more people to follow this trend.

There are a range of causes leading to this trend. Firstly, people are aware that a healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. To be

specific, it protects humans against many chronic noncommunicable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. For example, the

WHO stated that insufficient vegetables and fruit is the culprit of 2.8% of deaths in the world. Secondly, it is widely known that regular

physical activity can improve humans' muscle strength and boost their endurance. As a matter of fact, exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients

to their tissues and helps their cardiovascular system work more efficiently. To be more important, when their heart and lung health

improve, people may have more energy to tackle daily chores. According to scientific research, getting at least 150 minutes a week of

moderate-intensity aerobic activity can put the public at a lower risk of heart disease and stroke which are two of the main reasons of

death in the United States. ⇒

In order to motivate more people to consume healthy food and exercise regularly, several solutions should be done. The first way is

organizing more campaigns and educational programs to raise public consciousness about disadvantages of junk food and advantages of a

balanced diet. Thus, the community possibly shifts fat consumption from saturated fats to unsaturated fats, eliminates industrially-produced

trans fats and increases consumption of whole grains, vegetables, fruit, nuts and pulses. As a way of illustration, every April 7th, the WHO

supports its member countries to celebrate World Health Day so as to spread information and awareness about the importance of health and

nutrition to the general populace. Moreover, the government ought to offer free public sports facilities. In fact, public sports facilities have

played a crucial role in promoting physical activity and participation in leisure sports activities. Therefore, the administration should improve

the image of leisure sports and pursue the amelioration of service quality of public sports facilities. ⇒

In conclusion, the aforementioned reasons above result in the trend of an increasing number of people who consume healthy food and

exercise regularly and several ways could be done to recommend more people to follow this tendency.
