The planned concepts of the lesson were taught and learnt successfully. Learners were able to read the comprehension passage and
relate the story to their real life experiences as to that of the author. The lesson was successfully done as the set objectives were met.
The weekly aim was also achieved as learners’ skills on debate and public speaking were enhanced.
STRENGTHS
The concept development by the teacher was good as the teacher also went further on to explain on the hidden curriculum. The group
discussion was effective as most of the learners made valid arguments on their claims and they demonstrated that have researched on
the notion of the debate. The quality of discussion was good as learners offered concrete evidence, they did not generalize their ideas.
The media used by the teacher was informative and clear on the guidelines on debate. The assumed knowledge of the teacher was
correct. The teacher managed to project his voice well during the lesson and the whiteboard was effectively bused by the facilitator.
WEAKNESSES
The classroom management by the teacher was not effective as there was noise during discussion from groups. This has affected
learners like Tinokutendai Nyakurerwa.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
The teacher intends to work on classroom management skills and probably allocate few learners in group so that they will maximum
participation by all learners.
