To whom It may concern,

It is my pleasure and honor to provide a letter of recommendation for Amanda Ellis. She has informed
me of an opportunity for a teaching position at your university, and I believe Amanda would be a perfect
fit. She is qualified and knowledgeable, as she has professional and personal experience within the
OB/GYN field. She is a mother of five beautiful children, and she takes pride in her family being her
number one priority. She juggled the feat of going back to school to obtain her nursing degree, all while
working and taking care of her family. Her wisdom is strengthened by her continued drive to learn, as
she currently works two jobs and does CPR training in her spare time as well.

Amanda and I have grown up together, and she is one of my closest friends. I admire Amanda's
perseverance because she can multi-task in any situation, all while keeping a calm and collected
attitude. Amanda carries herself with always having a positive outlook, despite all that she may have on
her plate. Just last summer, her husband had a traumatic accident that caused him to be non-weight
bearing for over 16 weeks, leaving Amanda to handle all the day-to-day activities for months. She
continued to work on-call for the hospital in the maternity ward, as well as taking care of her family and
disabled husband. He was incapable of working or caring for the family, or himself, so this caused a great
deal of strain on Amanda. She never missed a beat on keeping the children involved in summer
activities, back-to-school agendas, and fall sports. She was the only means of transportation for the
family, as well as making sure her husband made all of his medical appointments and physical therapy.
The emotional toll this would take on any family, Amanda took in stride and balanced these duties, all
while returning to work as the school nurse at Christian Heartland full time. I could not encourage her
enough on how well she handled the past year and all that life had handed to her, and I admire her
strength.

Amanda puts her heart and soul into everything she does, as she is constantly looking how she can
improve for herself, her career, and her family. She is kind, thoughtful, giving, compassionate, a woman
of faith, and one of the hardest working people I know. My husband and I own a photo booth business,
and Amanda has even offered to jump in and help assist us when we have juggled photography and the
photo booth at wedding venues. She has proven she is adaptable to any situation. I know that teaching
would fulfill a passion in her heart, as she has so much to offer.

I want to thank you for this time to express my confidence is Amanda's abilities. I hope that you would
consider her for the teaching position, as I know she is qualified academically and personally. She would
be a valuable asset to Kent State University, and I know she would make a daily impact on the students,
academically and individually.

Please feel free to contact myself with any questions or concerns. Thank you again for your time.

Sincerely,

Lee Ann Groves
