Descriptions and Operations

Wiper and Scrubber

The wiper and scrubber contain the following
components:
● Windshield wiper blade
● Windshield wiper arm
● Windshield wiper motor
● Wiper connecting rod
● Windshield scrubber reservoir has a scrubber pump.
● Windshield wiper and scrubber switch (part of
the combined switch).

signals to the wiper relay, the motor drives the
wiper into the high-speed operation mode.
Low gear wiper
When the combined switch supplies low gear
signals to the wiper relay, the motor drives the
wiper into the low-speed operation mode.
Intermittent gear wiper
The signals sent out from the combined switch
are transmitted to the wiper motor via the wiper
relay, and go into interval operation.
Scrubber system
The wiper receives signals from the combined
switch and at this time the wiper relay is activated
and conveys voltage to the scrubber motor.

Inspection and Confirmation

1. Identify the problems users encountered.
2. Inspect visually to see if there are any signs of
the following mechanical or electrical damage

General Procedures

Adjustment of Wiper Blade and Wiper Arm

1. Circulate the windshield wiper repeatedly and
then stop.
2. Test to see if the distance from the right
windshield wiper blade to the front gear seal
strip is between 28 ± 2 cm.
3. Test to see if the distance from the left
windshield wiper blade to the front gear seal
strip is between 34 ± 2 cm.
4. If the distance is not in compliance with the
specification, remove the windshield wiper
arm that is not in compliance and then reinstall
according to the specification. Refer to Wiper
Arm in this section for more information.
