Greetings!

I am assigned to discuss the first topic related to this chapter named how to lunch TPM project?
So, the first thing we should consider in starting a tpm project is that who are the required or we can say
that who are those person we need to be in the team, so we can achieve our project goal. So as a
project manager, we are going to look or recruit a team.

Take a look at the ppt presented.

`Yes indeed that having an effective team is important, just like in sports like basketball, hindi
kayo mananalo kung ikaw lang mag isa ang laging gumagalaw, at mas lalong hindi kayo mananalo pag
hindi kayo marunong maglaro ng basketball. Just like what is stated here that project plan and their
execution are only be successful as the manager and team who implement them.

So now im gonna share to you how to recruit effective project team members, by first knowing
the separate componenets in choosing project team. These are the CT, CT, and CT, please note that the
project team can be completed without the Contract team, but it should always composed of ct and ct.

So let’s move on on how to recruit a core team, but before that what is a core team,

“Basa”

These are the group of people that will help you to implement the project plan from the
beginning until the end of the project. These are the person who’s assigned to different important task
that should be done in the project. Examples are those professionals in specific fields.

When to select a core team member? As early as possible, why? Because the core team will be needed
for the Joint Project Planning Session (JPPS), its members should be identified as early as possible. The
core team is usually identified at the beginning of the scoping phase. This means that the members can
participate in the early definition and planning of the project.

the following are those criteria on how to select a core team member,

these should be identified by project managers as being the most important for core team members to
possess:

 Commitment to the project —The core team must be proactive in fulfilling those responsibilities
and not need constant reminders of schedules and deliverables from the project manager.
 Shared responsibility - This means that success and failure are equally the reward and blame of
each team member. Having shared responsibility means that you will never hear one team
member taking individual credit for a success on the project, or blaming another team member
for a failure on the project.
 Flexibility - Team members must be flexible and willing to adapt to the situation.
 Task-oriented - In the final analysis, it is the team members’ ability to get their assigned work
done according to the project plan that counts.
 Ability to work within schedules and constraints - . Team members will encounter a number of
obstacles, such as delays caused by others, but they will have to find a way around those
obstacles. The team depends on its members to complete their work according to plan
 Trust and mutual support - Are they empathetic and do they readily offer help when it is clear
that help is needed?
 Team-oriented - To be team-oriented means to put the welfare of the team ahead of your own.
 Open-minded—The open-minded team member will welcome and encourage other points of
view and other solutions to problem situations.
 Ability to work across structure and authorities
 Ability to use project management tools

Client Team

You may have no choice about who the client assigns to your team. Example of this is your
managers.

When to Select the Client Team

These people need to be assigned in time to participate in the Project Kick-Off Meeting. That would be a
bonus when Many of them might have been part of the Joint Project Planning Session.

Selection Criteria

Since you may have no choice about who the client assigns to your team. All you will likely be able to
do is profile the skills and experiences of the client team members you will need. Perhaps
specification by position title would be preferred by both the client and the project manager. Also,
you would like to have client members with some decision-making authority. Or That can slow
project progress.

Contract Team Members

contract team members are available to work on the project for only short periods of time. A contract
team member may possess a skill that is needed for just a brief time, and he or she is assigned to the
project for that time only. As soon as the assigned task is completed, he or she leaves the project.

When to Select the Contract Team Members

When the organization has a shortage of staff and/or skills, as a result, project managers have
been forced to use contract team members instead of their company’s own employees.

Selection Criteria

Steps that might project manager take to engage the services of a contract team member:
1. Identify the types of skills and the number of personnel needed, and the time frame within which
they will be required.
2. Identify a list of companies that will be invited to submit a proposal.
3. Write the Request for Proposal (RFP).
4. Establish the criteria for evaluating responses and selecting the vendor(s).
5. Distribute the RFP.
6. Evaluate the responses.
7. Reduce the list of vendors to a few who will be invited onsite to make a formal presentation.
