Notes

• University iPhone and accessories will be in the Master Control room at Library 6. Please make sure
you charge the battery pack during the ceremony and the iPhone between ceremonies.
• Please see Karla in the reserved/VIP seating section (center aisle near stage, they will be wearing a
walkie talkie) as soon as you arrive to reserve your seat for the ceremony. Ask for one on the aisle, one
or two rows back. Make sure you are in your seat before the platform party processional begins.
• Sign into the Facebook stream at least twenty minutes before the ceremony begins. Remember to log
out after the ceremony concludes.
• Photos will be posted to the CSUN Box folder around an hour after the ceremony concludes. Do not
forget to upload the photos from your ceremony.

FACEBOOK
Facebook Live
Facebook Live and YouTube will be broadcast out of the control room in Library 6 (look for the “on air” light on
the wall). Please check in with Tim, Megan or Garrett upon arrival to make sure everything is good to go.
Streams will likely be done through our Vimeo platform.

During down time, please check in on the comments. If you see anything that is an advertisement you can
remove it. If you notice anything threatening the event, threatening an individual or hostile behavior, please
contact DPS at 818-677-2111.

Facebook Post
Within an hour after the ceremony ends, “best” photos will be uploaded into the CSUN Box account
(Commencement Photos> 2022 Commencement). Please log in at mycsun.box.com using your campus
credentials and choose up to 10 photos to upload as an album. This will need to be done from a computer, not
your phone. Please follow these instructions to upload an album.

Log in to Hootsuite. Click the Compose pen on the upper left.

Upload photos and follow the below instructions on what to include in the post.
 TWITTER
This is an example of a ceremony in 2018. Please post approximately 10 tweets in this
general format. Always use #CSUNgrad or #CSUNgrad22 (depending on ceremony).
Tweets are displayed here in reverse order.

LAST POST. Post that the ceremony has ended and what colleges will be
graduating at the next ceremony.

Post other interesting tweets. Feel free to retweet students or

attendees.

QUOTE STUDENT SPEAKERS. This ceremony had two students, so we

must quote both of them. If you feature one student, be prepared to
feature them all.
QUOTE PRESIDENT HARRISON. Use pre-determined tweets. Always
refer to her as CSUN President Dianne F. Harrison if possible. If not,
President Harrison is fine.

SHOW THE PROCESSION.

FIRST TWEET. Let people know what is coming. Remind them that
they can watch the ceremony live on Facebook.
 INSTAGRAM
Post up to three Instagram photos per ceremony, either single post or carousel, no videos. Photos should be
visually interesting and highlight an emotion. If you do not take one, choose an image from the university
photographer photos at the end of the night. Below are some examples from past ceremonies.

INSTAGRAM STORIES
Post three or more Instagram Story posts. Be sure to include:

1. Post before ceremony begins. Highlight that they can watch on Facebook.
2. One to three posts during the ceremony.
3. “Congratulations Graduates” post.

TIK TOK
Please shoot a couple of stable (not moving the camera) videos, about 10-15 seconds in length, to be used on
TikTok. Upload them into Box via the Box App on the phone when the ceremony is over.
