Refugee Agency, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR) published in June 2022, nearly 5 million people in India were
internally displaced due to climate change and disasters in 2021.

published by the global renewable energy community REN21, India
placed third in the world for total renewable power capacity additions in
2021, with 15.4 GW (giga watts), following only China (136 GW) and the

 Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has launched the official logo and
mascot of the 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad.
o The mascot is named as ‘Thambi’and is a knight dressed in the
traditional Tamil attire Veshti (Dhoti) with a shirt and is seen with
folded hands, apparently extending the Tamil greeting ‘Vanakkam’.
 Telangana’s Rahul Srivatshav P has become India’s 74th Grandmaster,
achieving the title after breaking the 2500 (Elo points) barrier in live FIDE
ratings during the 9th Cattolica Chess Festival 2022 in Italy.
 Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa won Norway Chess Group A
