The company has recently hired a new managing director, who is trying to

understand Homeplus as a company and its future.

As Homeplus’s CEO, you now have to create a report to help the new MD
understand Homeplus as a company, its challenges over the years, the strategies
implemented by you, new challenges that could occur by implementing these
strategies and the possible solutions for them.  
 
This report will be shared with the MD via email. There will be other stakeholders
in the company that will also go through the report. Hence, make sure you write an
appropriate email to accompany the report. 
 
 
Question 1 - Email (10 marks)
 
Draft an email that will act as an introduction to the report. The report will be sent
in the email to ensure that a record is maintained and also, if needed, can be
forwarded to any other team. While writing the email, keep in mind that more than
one person would be reading it.  
 
Grading criteria:

 Email structure and components - 7 marks

 Email tone and content - 3 marks


 
Question 2 - Report Writing (30 marks)
 
Question A. Title - (1 mark)
Give an appropriate title that clearly describes what the reader should expect from
the report. 
 
Question B. Table of Contents (2 marks)
Create a clear table of contents that will help the reader navigate their way through
the document efficiently.
 
Question C. Executive Summary (3 marks)
Mention the highlights or key elements of the report. The executive summary
should give the reader an overall idea of the contents without having to go through
the whole report.
 
Question D. Introduction (2 marks) 
Specify what exactly you wish to achieve from the report. This will cover the
objective of the report. Be sure about the report readership and direct the brief
towards them.
 
Question E. Main Body (17 marks)
Write the main information in the main body. Structure it in such a way that it is
easy to follow and clear to understand. 
 
The main body must include: 
1. The problem - Focus on the problem that the company faced. 
1. What was the problem? Give a brief overview.
2. What are some specifics of the problem? 
3. Were there any other aspects that increased the complexity of the
problem?
2. The solution - Describe the solutions implemented by the company.
1. How did the problem get solved?
2. Was it a simple or complex solution?
3. Were there any unseen challenges that arose out of the
implementation of solutions and what ways were used to mitigate
them?
3. Focus on the issues they are likely to encounter in the future.
 
Grading criteria: 

 Structure of the main body - 4 marks

 Clarity and conciseness of the language - 4 marks

 Content - 9 marks
 
Question F. Conclusion (5 marks)
Conclude the report with recommendations from the Korean team.
