Jewel: Ayun po bali ang ano po namin is perception po ng Filipino AMTs sa use ng paperless
maintenance documentations and ano lang po medyo iki-clear up po namin since nung parang
proposal defense po nagka-issue po dahil dun sa wording ng maintenance documentations so for
this study parang mas gusto lang po naming i-clear na yung- ang ibig lang po sana naming sabihin is
yung paperless ‘yung digital manuals po or yung electronic technical.

Sir Estigoy: Magkaiba kasi iyan eh diba meron tayong digital references which is yung AMM, TSM,
CMM and then iba 'yung MTC 'yung maintenance card naman is yung the one na iniistamp natin to
certify yung aircraft is air working.

Jewel: Yes po.

parts po. First po is for Demographic profile lang, Second po is yung main interview questions tapos
Thiri part po is yun nga pong may statements and sabihin niyo lang po kung how agree or disagree
po kayo.

Jewel: How long have you been working in AMT field po Sir? 

Sir Estigoy: Actually to start with Aviones talaga ako-

Jewel: Opo. 

Sir Estigoy: and then when I got promoted, I was put as a section manager of the AMT in terminal 2
operations so kung terminal etong AM ano- sa Aviones ano na ’ko  7 years and remaining years ng
12 years is AMT.

Jewel: Ang Highest Educational Attainment niyo po Sir? 

Sir Estigoy: Master’s Degree and Business Administration

Jewel: ‘Yung exact job title niyo po ngayon Sir?

Sir Estigoy: Section Manager for Terminal 2 Operations.

Sir Estigoy: Manager, Section Manager.

Jewel: Puwede niyo po bang-

Sir Estigoy: Section Manager

Jewel: iexplain Sir ng medyo mas mahaba po? Ano po yung mga ginagawa niyo on your day to day
job po? Sa day to day po, ano pong ginagawa niyo Sir?
Sir Estigoy: So kasama sa scope ko  yung controlling  ng manpower, trainings and authorization,
review and then yung workload namin everyday, screening ng workload and then yung
communication with the customer.

Jewel: Next slide ano- 

Sir Estigoy: Meron yung mas specific ano medyo mahaba lang yung JD ko  maraming scope pero
basically ‘yun na yung summary non. 

Jewel: Okay po. So papunta na po tayo sa interview questions po. So ang first question po, what are
the current aircraft manuals po in your workplace that utilize a paperless digital format?

Sir Estigoy: Actually yung manuals na approved manual na ginagamit namin is I transferred already
to the digital so I created an app called Remote kasi since we were in a terminal so medyo
masyadong malayo yung mga eroplano imagine servicing around 70+ base sa terminal 2 and
everytime na may flight it will be utilized. It will be tiresome sa mga tao and malayo yung warhome
namin to get yung references so what we’re using right now is the digital format that paper can
reaccess through iPADs so I ordered iPADs and cellphones- their cellphones. So we created an app
called Remote.

Jewel: Isa po kayo sa mga Main person po dun Sir? Yun po ba yung parang nasa cellphone na
kasama daw po dun sa ibibigay na 150 units yun po ba ‘yon  kung-

Sir Estigoy: Saan mo nakuha ‘yang news na ‘yan? Oo yun nga, yung nga.

Jewel: Kay Sir Ivan lang din po.

Sir Estigoy: Pero I think you ano- I think you cannot share yun don sa may ano noh sa may –
pagdating na sa school kase-

Sir Estigoy: masyado siyang partikular. I think make it generic-

Sir Estigoy: nalang na if that’s the technique in terminal 2 is using a-

Sir Estigoy: Pero to be particular, ang tawag ko dun is Remote and yon mag-iissue kami nung 150
cellphones. Also, kumuha na ‘ko ng 20 iPADs.
Jewel: Can you describe how do you use po yung mga ganun Sir? I mean yung aircraft manuals in
digital format po. 

Sir Estigoy: Meron bang share screen dito? 

Jewel: Meron po Sir, puwede naman po.

Sir Estigoy: Ayun. You cannot start share screen while the other participant is sharing-

Jewel: end ko muna sharing.

Sir Estigoy: Sige, end mo muna. Yan I’ll share my screen. Wala pa eh, nakashare pa kayo. 

Jewel: Pero nan-

Sir Estigoy: para mapakita ko nalang, di naman nakarecord noh kasi baka mapenalize ako ng
company namin.

Sheryl: Uy, paano magstop? I’m sorry.

Jewel: Sa share screen? 

Sheryl: Oo.

Jewel: Wait lang.

Sir Estigoy: I-click mo nalang yung parang x siguro.

Sheryl: Okay, Okay. Sory, sorry. 

Jewel: Okay na po Sir?

Sir Estigoy: Eto na. Kita niyo yung screen ko? 

Jewel: Yes po.

Sir Estigoy: ah yeah, Remote. So itong Remote, it was installed dun sa mga cellphones ng tao po na
hindi maaaccess tas nasheshare yung point namin. Ayan, so yung AirbusWorld nandito, so Boeing
kasi yung Boeing yung di ako makagawa ng link papunta dun sa ano nila Boeing toolbox parang
dinown na nila yun yung digital platform nila eh so pagclinick ito imagine this is the cone so
pagkailangan ko ng Airbus , pagclinick nila yon lalabas dun sa cellphone nila yung AirbusWorld.
Lahat kami dito meron kaming user and password so from the AMM, IPC, lahat ng everything sa
Airbus pati yung effective na aircrafts from A319 to 350 andyan lahat sa loob.  Okay, next ayun sa
Boeing naman since pinut down nila yung tawag don Boeing toolbox nila, what we did is created a
cloud. Andun sa cloud yung lahat ng manual na kailangan ko sa triple 7  kasi sa terminal, ang Boeing
aircraft lang na customer ko is triple 7. Si AMM nandito na rin, IPC nakagawa na yun sa cloud so eto
yung chapters niya, chapter 5, chapter 6, chapter 7 ata chapter, familiar ka?

Jewel: Yes po Sir. 


Sir Estigoy: So yun so, sample ‘to 26. So it was regularly updated by a RTX Engineering so updated
lahat ng manuals dito. Naka-PDF format siya. Ayan, nandyan na lahat ‘yon so dun sa phone or nasa
iPad can be zoom in noh tsaka may search function din yan kung anong particular references sa
mga chapters dun sa hahanapin. SRM SSM so yun nandito na pati yung ano namin yan Portal namin.
PAL GMM ito yung customer handbook kasi mayroon silang sariling general maintenance na wala
sa Airbus but particularly sa connectivity ng eroplano nila. So ‘yon ginagamit lang namin ‘to sa
phone tsaka sa iPad.

Jewel: Ayun po, yun po ang next question ko.

Sir Estigoy: Okay.

Jewel: Bali ang devices na used niyo po Sir ay phone and iPad po.

Sir Estigoy: mm

Jewel: Opo

Sir Estigoy: Kasi gusto ko sana eh mobile yung mga tao pero hindi naman puwede. Ang bigat na ng
laptop ngayon eh hindi na uso ngayon. Okay.

Jewel: Sheryl, share screen ka na ulit. Ayun po Sir, next question po is what are the disadvantages,
nuisances and inconveniences na nakikita niyo po sa paggamit ng maintenance manuals in the
digital format?

Sir Estigoy: Actualy mas marami syang advantages pero ang part ng disadvantage siguro is yung
ano meron tayo kasi yung pangit pakinggan eh no yung medyo oldies na eh no and hindi sila maka
cope up dun sa technology. You have to train them pa. Next is yung internet connection minsan
nagfe fail tayo dyan kasi Phillippines eh no. And then next is yung ano data ng mga tao medyo costly
syempre.

Jewel: Ay okay po yung parang yung data po sir you mean is yung mibile data po sir.

Sir Estigoy: mobile data, oo medyo costly yun eh. Rather than that I ano eh mas madali sya eh.
Instead na you have to print, magastos na sya mahirap maghanap especially pag makapal na yung
reference ito kasi research function eh. Yun yung advantage nya

Jewel: How often naman po nyo nae-encounter yung mga ganong disadvantages?

Sir Estigoy: Yung main disadvantage na when it comes to ano usage, madalas yan lalo na pag medyo
may age na yung gagamit. Pero other than that seldom lang. Yung mga ibang hindrances madali lang
to sabi ng mga tao kasi hindi na nila kailangang magpa balik balik sa war room.

Jewel: Bale binibitbit na po nila yun sir kahit saan po sila?

Sir Estigoy: oo, yung phone nila

Jewel: opo

Sir Estigoy: wala pa ngang eroplano nila nakakapagbasa na sila ng reference para makapag-prepare
na sila ng tools eh
Jewel:makapag prepare ay okay po sir.Next question Sheryl

Sir Estigoy: kasi yung mga tools required tsaka consumables. Nandon naman na sa may manuals eh,
let’s say for example AMED sa job set-up palang nandon na yung mga tools na kakailanganin mo eh.
So makakapag withdraw ka na agad ahead of time. Imagine we have one hundred fifty aircrafts a
day 99% hindi kami nagi-intilate ba ng standard ng aviation is 85 so numbers don’t lie diba okay
yun lang.

Jewel: Okay po sir, next question Sheryl. Kung ano naman po sir, What are the benefits, advantages
and conveniences naman po sa paggamit nung manuals in digital format?

Sir Estigoy: First of all yung ano nga yung search function, napakadali maghanap ng reference.
Imagine meron ka dyang reference habang 70 pages nandon ka palang sa job set-up pero merong
mga required dun sa mga nasa gitna. So you need to withdraw na yun para hindi kana magpabalik
balik. Ma search naman agad. And then next is yung flexibility nya ano at tsaka yung pagiging
handy. So pag pinatakbo kita kunyari agad dun sa B38 nandon ka sa B25 hindi kana babalik ay wala
ako reference wala akong ano nga ba tools na kailangan. So ayun handy sya at tsaka usable. So yun

Jewel: okay po sir next question. What are your thoughts po regarding the ease of using paperless
maintenance manuals? Bale yung ease of use po is yung term na gamit namin kung pano nyo po
made-describe kung gano nyo po kadaling gamitin sya sa work every day ganon.

Sir Estigoy: Actually we designed it ano no we designed it na yung software to be usefriendly kasi
pag ang software is hindi user friendly hindi sya ginagamit ng mga tao. Kaya kasi sya tinawag na
remote parang yung sa TV if you want to go to channel 2 one click lang. As you can see yung
pinakita ko kanina pag gusto mo ng airbus world or AMM ng triple 7 one click lang andon ka na.
okay, okay lang siguro.

Jewel: follow up question dun po sir

Sir Estigoy: ikaw na mag ano

Jewel: Next Sheryl, are there situations naman po na kung saan mahirap po syang gamitin?

Sir Estigoy: Siguro depende yan sa may ano sa gadget na gamit nila. If masyadong maliit yung phone
eh maliit yung font size. Kung izo-zoom in mo naman ang liit ng scope ng nababasa nila. So I think
that answers A and B.

Jewel: And additional question naman po sir halimbawa po ano pong perception nyo regarding
halimbawa po kailangan nilang may dalawang reference na kailangang pagsabayin tignan dahil
yung reference A is kino-call out is yung reference B po kunyari po. Yung ganoong instances po.

Sir Estigoy: actually yung ganoong reference, Ang references kasi is naka hyperlink na yan.

Jewel: okay po

Sir Estigoy: So kunyari pag may kinol out sya ibang reference pag clinick mo yun automatically
pupunta nay un doon. So I don’t think hindi na

Jewel: Hindi napo sya


Sir Estigoy: So ngayon kung gusto nyo balikan may kasama din sya and may isa pang phone so I
think they can both open yung mga pages. Lahat naman tayo naka cellphone na ngayon.

Sir Estigoy: and pag yung gumagawa ng task normally partnership naman yan usually tatlo o apat
kayo. Pero yung mga task naman dun sa AMM, sa airbus o dun sa boeing is naka hyperlink yun.

Jewel: Okay po sir next Sheryl. What are your thoughts naman po regarding the effects on your
workflow efficiency kapag gumagamit po ng paperless na maintenance manuals?

Sir Estigoy: Basta gagamitin yung manual o yung dun sa tamang gamitan nya no. Hindi na kasi
minsan ano eh meron kaming nawe waste na oras pagkuha palang ng reference. From B to D
maglalakad ka papunta balik sa war room dun pag akyat mo at gamit mo yung iPads ang dali nalang
hindi ka na babalik sa ano. Kasi yung iPad namin ano eh may sling sya dala dala na nila yun
pagpunta nila sa eroplano. So yung before nung wala yung digital babalik ka sa war room you have
to print, mag se-search alam mo yun. Unlike dun sa iPad on the go na.

Jewel: Follow-up questions po. Are there any situations po na yung workflow efficiency nega- next
slide Sheryl- yung workflow efficiency nyo po is negatively affected by the use of digital manuals
po?

Sir Estigoy: None that I’ve heard sa ngayon. Actually ano pa naman sya sa ngayon , 4 months palang
ni launch. Wala pa akong naririnig na nagrereklamo. Normally nagrereklamo ang mga tao pagdating
dyan.

Jewel: Wala pa naman po sir

Sir Estigoy: oo wala pa naman

Jewel: okay po next question Sheryl. Ano naman po ang thoughts nyo regarding the effects of digital
manuals on work safety po? Either kahit makaisip po kayo ng negative o positive effects. Okay lang
po.

Sir Estigoy: On work safety?

Jewel: Yes po.

Sir Estigoy: It’s the same effect nung manual naman kasi or yung may paper kasi ang importante is
how you carry out yung task eh. Andun naman yung mga caution yung mga hazards. Nandon na sa
may person kung babasahin nya yun. Andon na sa tao kasi available naman na sya sa digital
platforms kasi you have to read lang kaya sundan mo lang yung manual. Walang magiging effect sa
safety yun. Same as yung may paper ah diba ganun din naman kasi pag binasa mo yung caution
then job set-up ng maayos. Wala dapat maging safety ano

Jewel: tingin nyo naman po sir parang dahil sa pagiinteract nila po sa mga devices sa tingin nyo po
wala po syang magiging effect sa work safety?
Sir Estigoy: Eh ganon din sana eh

Jewel: Sa pad paper.


Sir estigoy: sa pad paper you have to read eh, wala naming binago ang nangyari lang we cut out yung
printing tsaka yung paper. Tsaka yung pag pabalik-balik ng work nila, but for the usage you have to read
parin talaga eh.

Jewel: Opo, okay next question. Last na po to sir, meron pa po ba kayong any other comments,
suggestions, concerns or kahit ano pong naiisip nyo regarding sa paggamit po nung digital manuals po.

Sir Estigoy: Sa ngayon? Actually gusto ko pang i-explore pa yung ano, yung maintenance task card.

Jewel: opo

Sir Estigoy: Pwede na kayo magdigital release kaso hindi ko alam kung yung authority natin is ready for
that. Kasi nagcocollect parin ang CAAP ng ano eh ng physical task cards. Are they accepting electronic
signs? Signitures diba? Parang may provincials sila ayaw nila non. Let’s say for example meron kaming x-
one check eh ano naman na yun eh standard na laman ng task card na yun. So you electronically sign
mo nalang na iperform iyun and then it would be converted to pdf. Tatanggapin ba ng CAAP yun? Kasi sa
ngayon diba yung stamp and signature is accepted by CAAP, electronic signitures hindi accepted.

Jewel: Isa po pala yung sir sa mga parang nagiging limiting factor nyo po para magdevelop pa?

Sir Estigoy: Madali lang naman itra-transfer mo lang yung task card sa may software

Jewel: opo

Sir Estigoy: Tapos kunwari 360 check, iikutan mo ngayon mayroon syang link ng reference i-cliclick mo
lang nakahyperlink na sya gagawin mo sya peperform mo sya babalik ka don sa task card. I-electronic
sign mo na iperform then sa satisfactory magcoconvert na dapat sya sa pdf and then magco-close na
dapat sya sa system so that certifies na na perform yung task. Ngayon tatanggapin ba ng CAAP yun? May
na interview na ba kayo sa CAAP?

Jewel: wala po, hindi po sakop ng ano namin.

Sir Estigoy: pero yun, yun yung ano nila kasi nangingi per sila pisikal sila ng ano ng task cards

Christian: Sir, nabanggit nyo po kanina yung tungkol po sa mga medyo may age na po and ano po sa
tingin nyo po how important is training in using the electronic manuals?

Sir Estigoy: Depende sa complexity ng ano software kung masyadong complex yung software katulad ng
meron kasi kaming kung tawagin ay aviatar, yung aviatar kasi is yung pinalit namin sa airman at tsaka
dun sa ano boeing. So sya yung nagmomonitor ng ano elf, nung air craft bago pa dumating dito. So
kailangan ng training ng, pero ito kasi remote kasi ilang pindot lang naman to. So yung so Malaki ang
epekto ng training pag gagamit ka ng ano applications or sofwares.

Jewel: additional question po sir, satingin nyo po how do- yung mga medyo slow learners cope up with
the problem, halimbawa mahihirapan silang gumamit or ganun.

Sir Estigoy: saglit lang ah saglit

Sir Estigoy: hello sorry ah may kinausap lang ako. Ano ulit yung question mo?
Jewel: How do you think po yung mga slow learners po magcope up sa mga ganoong difficulties?

Sir Estigoy: Actually ano eh they don’t have to adjust, if your software or application is efficient dapat
magamit nila yun. Kung iisipin mo kasi dapat seven years old maintindihan na yung application to make
it user friendly. So yun yung ano no siguro global standard ng paggamit ng or para matawag mo ang
isang application na user friendly dapat seven years old malalaro sya nyan.

Jewel: Bali isa po sa mga- aside from training- isa po sa mga factors sa tingin nyo po yon kung pano.
Kung gano ka user friendly po yung

Sir Estigoy: oo, meron term eh kung tawagin poka yoke, narinig nyo nayun?

Jewel: hindi po

Sir Estigoy: Poka yoke is an error proofing Japanese term. Pipigilan mo lang magkaroon ng error nyan
para sa paggamit.

ano.

Jewel:Sir, how often po ba na naga-update kasi isa din po yun sa mga napansin kong laging sinasabi

Sir Estigoy: maglalabas ako, maglalabas ng ano OEM Engineering ng customer depende dun sa manual
na gagamitin. Pag yung mga manual regarding sa OEM o sa airbus o sa boeing naglalabas ng OEM.
Ngayon kung customer manual yan or company manual should be coming from an engineering so
everytime na may pinapalitan sila dapat updated, kahit one word

Jewel: Mga gaano often naeexperience yun?

Sir Estigoy: ano yung hindi yun, ako on the average siguro every few months meron

update ng TS or engineering group namin, religiously so if that failed yung findings manggagaling sa
kanila

ang mag a-update yung TS ang maga-update kasi previously na audit kami nyan lalo na nung
nagpandemic. Yung mga manual namin na may paper pa pinupuntahan ng CAAT dito tsaka nung quality
namin to be audit kung updated lahat. Hindi sya ano hindi sya updated kasi nagkaroon ng social
distancing di sila makapunta dito. Hindi ma-update yung mga CDs at tsaka yung mga paper na manual
yugn MEL etc. So kasama to sa mga nagging improvement namin para mawala yung ano outdated na
manuals na available dun sa ano is online ina-update na yung manual namin and online din namin sya
ginagamit through the app. Huwag nyo na ikwento dun sa rival bukod don sa may remote.
