INTRODUCTION
Before you step into the job market, it is very crucial that you are equipped with the right
knowledge and information regarding the path that you plan to take. Searching for a job is a
process, and it can sometimes be a lengthy one. There are a few vital steps and
preparations to be done in the process of job searching.

STEPS IN JOB APPLICATION PROCESS


In today's competitive job market, looking for a new job can be an intimidating challenge.
You may not know where to start or which search method is the right choice for you. If you
are searching for your first job or looking for a career change, you will need to know the most
effective steps for conducting a successful job search.

Activity 1

It is very important for you to identify what type of career you want. You may want to reflect
your academic qualifications, skills, competencies, and experiences in determining the
possible careers that may fit you. Make sure you have a clear and realistic goals based on
the current trends of the industry and note what qualifies you for that career path.

ANALYSING COMMONLY USED WORDS AND PHRASES IN JOB ADVERTISEMENTS


AND INFERRING THEIR MEANINGS
Apart from preparing yourself in job searching process, it is also essential to analyse the
commonly used words and phrases in job advertisements. Certain words and phrases are
repeated frequently because it is hard to encapsulate a job, company, and desired qualities
of an employee in a short space. However, do not dismiss these keywords just because of
overuse – the words and phrases in job advertisements can provide so much insight into the
role, culture, expectation, and company.

Job Description

To build planograms for range changes that are exciting yet logical to customers and easy to
implement for colleagues

 Build planograms which adhere to the Display Rules and meet level run down targets thus
supporting our customer promise ‘I can get what I want’
 Maximise the use of shelf ready packaging so displays are efficient for store colleagues
(leadership)
 Minimise air gaps
 Minimise over- facing to ensure we achieve our known loss targets
 Physically build displays in the Display Centre for all major range changes
 Update and maintain planograms for all minor, essential range changes so that we strive
to do our very best for customers and stores

To implement the range change process for display

 Establish an effective working relationship with Commercial, Supply Chain and Support
Office (good communication skills)
 Ensure all TD lines are removed from planograms
 Deliver planograms on time and which can be implemented first time in store
 Support the production of the store’s communication packs for major range changes

To maintain consistent, accurate data in the Planogram System databases

 Check that the range and planogram match for every range change
 All product dimensions are measured accurately
Job Requirement:

 Minimum Diploma in related field.


 Experience in display analysis, merchandise planning, planogram and range change would
be an advantage
 Excellent communication skills and able to communicate effectively with all levels
 Customer-focused, a team player, self-driven and able to work independently, proactive
and perform under tight deadline
 Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office, especially in Excel.
 Positive attitude, self-motivated, a good team player, disciplined, committed and able to
work under pressure.
 Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and spoken
