PREFACE

This off-campus portfolio is purposely prepared for student practice

teaching.

This portfolio contains the student teacher activities and experiences in

different areas of work in the school where he/she was assigned. It provides further
opportunity for student-teacher to become aware and understand the total setting of
the teacher education program.

To undergo the practice teaching is not an easy task for the student teacher
to meet the required standards within the given training period. A student teacher
may commit mistakes in doing his/her mission but he/she needs to face the
challenges to future for the future. He/she should performed what is expected of
him/her; follow the rules inside the classroom, demonstrate the different teaching
practices and be open-minded to suggestions and recommendations.

Indeed, it is in the off-campus training where a teacher has learned to

translate theories into practice, ideas and concept into action, and dreams and
aspirations to realities.

BRIEF HISTORY OF BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES

BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES (BCP) was established in June,

2002, initially named BESTLINK INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION and TECHNOLOGY
located at Sacred Heart Village, Caloocan City by the generous and charitable lady,
Madame Mary M. Vicente. The school growth from a technical school was tremendous
that the management decided to change its name to what it is today, BESTLINK
COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES IN 2012.

With its mission and vision of providing holistic training, it started with four (4)
computer courses. Through the persistent efforts of Engr. Diodado T. Lleno, the Vice-
President for Administration and Finance and Dr. Charlie Carińo, the Vice-President of
Academic Affairs, more courses were added. Due to its continuing expansion and
growth, BCP started to offer CHED ladderized program, 4-year degree courses. The
Permit to Operate (PTO) was granted on 2009 and on 2010.

COLLEGE OF TEACHER EDUCATION

Likewise, with the full implementation of K-12 Curriculum and approval of

DepED, BCP offered the Senior High School Program: the academic, tech-voc, and
arts and design tracks. Under the Academic Strands are General Academic Strand
(GAS), Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM), Humanities, Mathematics &
Social Studies (HUMSS), Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM),
under Tech-Voc are Information Computer Technology (ICT), and Home Economics
(HE), and Performing Arts (PA) under Arts and Design.

The continuing rapid growth of BCP’s enrollment prompted Dr. Mary M. Vicente
to scout for more additional school sites. At present, BCP has five (5) school campuses,
two (2) at Quirino Hi-way, one (1) at Millionaire’s Village, one (1) at Greenfields and one
(1) at Bulacan.

BCP has committed itself in providing quality education to the youth, however by
the end of SY 2019-2020, to be exact March 17, 2020, Pres. RODRIGO DUTERTE
declared the whole country in Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) where all
schools, establishments and other agencies were closed due to COVID 19. BCP was no
exception to the closure. For the SY 2020-2021, the school hopes that education will
continue in spite of the pandemic crisis.
