The title of the essay
The importance of management for the success of an organization

Summary
Management is essential to the success of an organization, because the decision-making process within it
can be an effective strategy to enhance the material, human and financial resources of a company. Along
with technological development, a unique example is the company Mercedes-Benz, which by achieving an
innovative management has achieved enormous success becoming one of the most important market
leaders.
Thus, in the context of the intensification of competition and globalization, the importance of managerial
decisions is highlighted and I consider that they are decisive for maintaining success.
The automotive industry is currently booming, and the promotion of innovative engineering, based on an
equally innovative management that exploits resources efficiently, is the key to success in this field.

Introduction

Management is defined as the process of designing and maintaining an environment in which people
working together in groups effectively fulfill selected and well-defined goals. The concept of management
is not a new one, its bases being described in different forms for thousands of years. The first references
are found in the Old Testament, and some managerial concepts have even been used in the construction
of the pyramids in Egypt.

The management consists in fulfilling the objectives in an efficient way, as a result of the organization,
planning, coordination and control of the resources. When it comes to organizations, management is
essential by capitalizing on several potentials: the human, the financial, the technological and the
informational. The prosperity of a company must be seen from various perspectives such as the rate of
profit, the quality of services provided and products, but also aspects related to social nature such as
contributing to zonal development and involvement in the zonal community. The market share of a
company is determined by the aspects presented above. The management of a company can be seen as a
way of controlling activities that aims to achieve a goal and includes activities such as resource allocation,
motivation, control of the organizational structure.

In the current century, the importance of management in the context of intensifying competition and
globalization is revealed. Business ideas have grown along with the development of technology, and
through the Internet information can flow freely throughout the globe. In conclusion, a high performance
management must include certain skills and knowledge, which are adaptable and able to respond in the
context of multiple challenges, increasingly common and diverse. Within organizations, organizational
structures are becoming more flattened, reducing the number of hierarchical levels.

Content in extenso

Due to the fact that business is growing every day, management is a key element in the fight against
competition. An effective manager must be increasingly flexible, knowledgeable, responsive to new
challenges, as well as new market requirements.

In this century, in addition to the traditional way of management, there have been companies that achieve
huge successes using their own impressive management system.

Taking into account the recent technological development, we can observe different managerial techniques
that have been notable successes in different fields. On the one hand, we have multiple companies in the
automotive industry, such as Lamborghini or Ferrari, which in the past relied on traditional management,
but as time went on they had to adapt to new techniques. One such company that has become a colossus
due to managerial decisions is Mercedes-Benz.

The first Mercedes-Benz brand name vehicles were produced in 1926. In 2018, Mercedes-Benz was the
largest seller of premium vehicles in the world, having sold 2.31 million passenger cars. The company's
origins come from Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft's 1901 Mercedes and Karl Benz's 1886 Benz Patent-
Motorwagen, which is widely regarded as the first internal combustion engine in a self-propelled
automobile. The fuel was not gasoline, but rather a much more volatile petroleum spirit called ligroin.

Mercedes has become a famous brand due to the right management decisions. The slogan for the brand is
"the best or nothing", offering a full range of passenger, light commercial and heavy commercial
equipment. Vehicles are manufactured in multiple countries worldwide. The models are varied from cars
to vans, trucks and even buses.

In 2014 onwards, a diesel emissions scandal appeared. The cars emitted much higher levels of pollution
under real-world driving conditions. Some cars emissions were higher even though there was no
manipulated software. So, for the environmental record, Mercedes-Benz has developed multi-concept cars
with alternative propulsion, such as hybrid-electric, fully electric, and fuel-cell powertrains. At the 2007
Frankfurt motor show, Mercedes-Benz showed seven hybrid models, including the F700 concept car,
powered by a hybrid-electric drivetrain featuring the DiesOtto engine. Mercedes has opened its sixth
battery factory in 2018, which makes it a tough competitor to Tesla. The six factories are established across
3 continents.

On the other hand, it is very important that, at the level of a company, there is a traditional management
plan, with formal relations that prevail over the informal ones, with exact plans for the following periods,
with the allocation of material, financial, human and informational resources in a known and repetitive
way, with the organization of activities on component units and with the control over them, thus reaching
the initially established objectives. The application of such a managerial plan will lead the company to an
ascending ramp, without peaks or less successful periods.

Within an organization or company there must be a form of management to realize its success. This form
of management can be both traditional and innovative, but it must take into account certain aspects that
will lead to business prosperity. It is very important that at the base of the organizational pyramid there is
a well-developed management system that manifests itself strategically, tactically and operationally. Thus,
programs and projects must be elaborated to contribute to the achievement of the performances deriving
from the established objectives. So, the company will achieve a financial success, which materializes in
profit, and then can resume the business cycle. Also, the application of a successful management plan can
lead the organization to the proposed non-financial objectives, objectives that are not essentially
quantifiable, but are giving a “nice touch” to the company.

Conclusions

In conclusion, regardless of the field in which the organization operates, the management must exist,
whether it is traditional or innovative. The success of a company depends on four conclusive stages:
planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Regardless of how they are put into practice, they must
constitute a managerial plan that starts from the objectives proposed by the organization and is achieved
through decision-making processes that ensure the efficient exploitation of all resources, at the level of
all organizations, in a systematically or less way. All this will contribute to the development of an
effective environment, which will value all resources and which will be prepared for any challenge.

Of course, like in every institution, sometimes there is a possibility for a member to carry out his activity
but not to cooperate in the same direction with his colleagues, so in order to ensure the coordination of
the work done and the achievement of a common goal, a well-developed management is needed.

Finally, I believe that this master will open different opportunities for me and will bring me a plus in the
development of management knowledge, contributing to my personal and professional development, and
will open my horizon to new opportunities in the road traffic industry.
