Short movie synopsis

Diana who is the princess and best warrior of the Amazon noticed that one day an USA
pilot Steve Trevor was able to enter in the island that it was impossible to see for the
human eyes. In addition, the island is only land of women and no men were allow.
Diana helped Steve to get out to the island. However, Diana think that the main reason
of the First World War was Ares fault. They decided to go to Londres together to stop
Ares and save the world.

2. The deciding factors that had a gender concept in the movie

During those times of war, women were not prepared to be involved in topics related to
war. Only men are allow it to fight for his nations. Diana had a lot problem in Londres
trying to fit in a society that was not intend for her.
The first deciding factor in the movie was during the battlefield. Two sides killing each
other for months. Diana as the amazing warrior she is was able to avoid all bullets and
run very fast with super strength included. This moment proved that Diana is in another
level comparison with the humans. In other words, she could end the war all by herself.
She was like the definitive warrior.
The second deciding factor was when she see innocent people die because of the
event of the war. In comparison, with men they are used to see innocent people die
because they train to be tough. They have and objective and they have to complete
without worry about this type of distraction. On the other hand, Diana who never saw
people died start crying and blaming herself because she could not save them. Even
though she is a powerful warrior, her feeling can affected because she is still a woman.

3. What were the impacts of the gender issues/concerns

The impacts of gender issues is that Diana do not have the right to speak or to give her
opinion in the private chamber that discuss topics of war. That place was only allow it
for men and strictly for men. In order to succeed, Diana have to work in secret with
Steve and his without the permission of the council.

4. Explain two ways how can you connect aspects of this movie to what we have
discussed in class and/or the textbook

I think that the first aspect how this movie connect to this class is that men tend to
believe that women are the weak gender and they always need a real man to protect
her. However, in this movie Diana proved that women could do the same thing that men
do with the correct proper training.
Finally, in the past the role of women were very straightforward not just in Londres but
for most countries that were involved in World War 1. However, nowadays I think
women have so many option in life just like men does. Even Diana nowadays work in
gallery building making sculptures. She no longer have to deal with discrimination and
sex gender.
