RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION OF WEIGHT INDICATORS

- The entry into the cable board of cells must be independent ( on one side or the other of the
board ) and directly connected to the terminal board of the device without breaking by bearing
terminal boards or passing through troughs containing other cables.

- Use the " RC " filters on the instrument-driven coils of the remote control switches.

- Avoid inverter, if inevitable, use filters and separate with sheets.

- In case of 230Vac supply, use a 380/230Vac transformer avoiding to use the 380Vac phase and
the neutral.

- The installer of the board is responsible for securing the electrical safety of the indicators.

- It is a good norm to let the indicators always switch on to prevent the formation of condensation.

MAIN FEATURES

- Zero-setting and calibration completely via keyboard.

- Calibration of the scales can be performed by setting the full scale of the instrument and the
sensitivity of load cells (THEORETICAL CALIBRATION) or by means of a SAMPLE WEIGHT.
- Integrity control of the load cell connection.
- Keyboard batching start, with programmable cycle number (max 9999).
- Batching start via external contact for one cycle at a time.
- Autotare possible on first component of each scale.
- Pause and work time settings for tapping function from the slow value that has been
programmed.
- Automatic calculation of the fall value for each product.
- Memorisation and display of the consumed quantity of each product (x10, x100, x1000).
Consumption value can be viewed directly on the display of the instrument in standby mode or
printed, if printer is installed.
- Cycle may be resumed from the point at which it was interrupted, in the event of power cut-off.
- Litre counter settings may be modified even during the batching phase if not concluded.
- Optional manual batching via keyboard.

- PASSWORD: access to constants programming may be blocked (formulas only).

OPERATION

The operator, or the external logic, starts batching. The DOS2005 closes the litre counter contact
and makes sure that each scale is disabled and that the weight shown is lower than the set
minimum weight. If these conditions are not met, the apparatus displays various alarm messages
and does not begin batching if the scale is alarming.
After the previous conditions have been checked, it carries out the autotare, if applicable, and closes
the contact of the first product of each scale involved in batching.
After the set value minus the slow value has been reached, the product contact will be opened and
closed at the pause and work times (tapping phase). After the set value has been reached for that
product, minus the fall value, the DOS2005 opens the contact and after the waiting time, memorises
the consumption values and moves to the next product, and so on until the last product, after which,
the cycle end contact is closed of the scale that has finished batching and, the printer, if installed,
prints out the data. The cycle end contact remains closed until the operator or the external logic
begins unloading the scales. When the minimum weight has been reached and after the safe-
emptying time has elapsed, the cycle end contact opens, thus enabling automatic arrest of the
unloading phase.
When a new start is activated by the operator using an external push button, or if several cycles
have been programmed on the keyboard, the scale that has finished unloading and that is disabled
can begin another batching cycle, even if the other scales have not finished. Maximum displacement
from scales to scales is one cycle).

LOAD CELLS VERIFY

Load cells resistance measure:

Use a tester with a battery lower than 9 VDC.

- Disconnected the load cells from the amplifier, verify that there is not any moistness caused by
condensed water or infiltration of water. So proceed cleaning the system or replacing it .
- Proceed with the measurement of the resistance as follow:
- Value between the positive supply and the negative supply must be about 350 ohm or similar at
one indicated on the load cell data sheet.
- Value between the positive signal and the negative signal must be about 350 ohm or similar at
one indicated on the load cell data sheet.
- Isolation value between the screen and any other conductor must be superior to 20 millions ohm.

Load cells tension measure:

Use a tester with a battery lower than 9 VDC ( or use the test function for measuring mV )

- Take out from underneath the container the cell you intend to verify.
- Connect the positive and negative supply of the load cell to the amplifier and verify a supply of 5
Vdc + / - 3 %.
- Measure the signal between the positive and the negative signal wires directly connected to the
multimeter, verify a signal between 0 and 0,5 mV dc ( thousandth of a volt ).
- Put force on the cell and verify an increment of the signal.

IN CASE THAT ONE OF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS IS NOT VERIFIED, CONTACT THE
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SERVICE.

- 10 -
STARTING PROCESS
Supply the instrument, wait for about 5 minutes so that all components reach a steady temperature.
Make sure that the displayed weight is positive and that increases if one subjects the container to a
force weight. In case the instrument displays a negative value , check the load cells connection and
the correct load cells installation (loading direction).
Check the correct mechanical installation of the container ( the position of tubes, mounting
accessories, etc. ).

TARE ZERO-SETTING
( ONLY FOR INSTRUMENT ALREADY CALIBRATED IN LABORATORY)

Make sure that the container is empty and press ; you will see “tArAA” ; hold and press the
MAN key, “ tArAb” will be displayed.

While “tArAA” or “tArAb” are displayed, press ENTER simultaneously and the tare of the selected
scale will be reset.
If the key is held with the required scale for more than 10 seconds, the reset value for that
scale will be displayed preceded by the symbol “ t ”.

- 11 -
INSTRUMENT CALIBRATED IN LABORATORY

Values set SCALE “A”:

“CELL.A” ( ); “nU-U.A” ( ); “rISO.A" ( )

Values set SCALE “B”:

“CELL.b” ( ); “nU-U.b” ( ); “rISO.b" ( )

In this case the instrument has been supplied already calibrated. Proceed with the calibration
check.

INSTRUMENT CALIBRATION CHECK:

Ensure that the container is empty and that the instrument displays zero. Place a significant amount
of products in the container (equal to at least 50% of the maximum quantity to be weighed) and
ensure that the instrument indicates the correct value.
- If there is a significant difference between the displayed value and effective amount ( greater
than 1-2% ) check that this is not caused by a mechanical fault and check the electrical connections
of the cell and the cell loading position.
- If the difference is not significant but around 1-2 % proceed with paragraph CORRECTION VIA
KEYBOARD OF THE INDICATED WEIGHT.

CORRECTION VIA KEYBOARD OF THE INDICATED WEIGHT:

From the weight display press and hold, you will see “CAL.A”, alternating with the weight of
scale A; press the MAN key simultaneously to select “CAL.b” alternating with the weight of scale B.
Depending on the displayed scales (“CAL.A” or “CAL.B”) press ENTER simultaneously and you will
see the weight value of the selected scale blinking; use the and keys to set the value of
the quantity actually present in the container, confirm with ENTER and you will momentarily see
“CAL.A” (or “CAL.B”) then the correct indication will be displayed and saved.

If during the weight correction the “ErrO” (error) message is displayed, this means
that the mV that reach the instrument are not proportional to the weight that is meant
to be displayed. It will therefore be necessary to recalibrate the instrument (see
THEORETICAL CALIBRATION) and repeat the check for a known weight (sample).

- 12 -

the system; maximum value that the litre counter can batch. The instrument does
not allow programming of a greater quantity than this value in the formula.

“PAUSA” pause time (maximum 999.9 seconds): time between the end of batching of one
product and the start of the next.

“o.VOLO” Fall (product falling when batching is stopped).

0 = manual fall
1 = automatic fall.

- 16 -
“VOLO” Fall value (product falling when batching is stopped) expressed in the units of
measurement of the system. Product batching is stopped when the weight
reaches the value set for the formula minus the fall value.
If MANUAL FALL ( “o.VOLO” = 0 ) is set in the o.VOLO constant, the operator
will program the fall value, which will then remain fixed.
If, on the other hand, AUTOMATIC FALL (“o.VOLO” = 1 ) has been set, the
instrument will automatically calculate the fall value after each batching cycle.

fall setting for the first product on scale “b” will appear; this can be changed
using the and keys; press ENTER to confirm it; the ”2 OUTb” LED will
begin to blink and " P2b " will be displayed; proceed in the same way up to the
fourth product for scale “b”. When the last product is confirmed you will see:

“LEnto” slow (expressed in the units of measurement of the system), value for enabling
the tapping phase, i.e. opening and closing of the product relay with the timing
defined in “LE.on” and “LE.oF”.
The slow phase begins when the weight reaches the value set for the formula
minus the set slow value.
Confirm with ENTER, the “1 OUTA” LED will blink and you will see " P1A "
displayed for 1 second, then the slow value of the first product will appear; this
can be changed using the and keys, then confirm it with ENTER; the
”2 OUTA” LED will blink and " P2A " will be displayed and then the slow value of
the second product; this can be changed using the and keys, then
confirm it with ENTER. Proceed in the same way for all products up to the fourth
product of scale “b”.

“LE.on” time expressed in seconds ( max 999.9 ) in which the product relay remains
closed in batching during the slow phase (tapping).

“LE.OF” time expressed in seconds ( max 999.9 ) in which the product relay remains
open in batching during the slow phase (tapping).

“A.tAr” autotare
0 = autotare disabled ;
1 = autotare enabled (at the start of batching scales “A” and “b” will be reset
provided that the weight is lower than the minimum weight programmed under
“PA _ _” , “Pb _ _” in constants).

“ tot ” Consumption.
0 = consumption disabled;
1 = consumption in kg x 10;
2 = consumption in kg x 100;
3 = consumption in kg x 1000;
For example: if 115kg of a product are batched and the setting is 1, the total
product is displayed as 11; this is so even if there is a decimal place, so in the
case of 12.7kg, 12 will appear on the display. It is possible to calculate
consumption up to the maximum value of 60,000, so with multiplier 1 the actual
maximum value becomes 600,000, with multiplier 2 the actual value becomes
6,000,000, with multiplier 3 it becomes 60,000,000. The multiplier should be
selected and set appropriately so that it does not fill the register (60,000), before
the expected period for zero-setting consumption, e.g. a day, a week, a month.

If the figure 59000 is exceeded for product 8A, the instrument displays the
message “tOt8A” alternating with the weight. To halt the alarm, delete and
disable consumption.

N.B. When consumption values are printed, the full figures are shown.

“ StA ” Print.
0 = automatic printing disabled (the printing of formulas, constants and
consumptions will still be allowed)
1 = printing enabled (batching data including time and date will be printed at the
end of every cycle)

BATCHING START VIA EXTERNAL CONTACT (OPTION E – EC)
WITH SELECTION OF 12 FORMULAS VIA SWITCH OR VIA EXTERNAL CONTACTS

When the formula is called by the external contact the formula will be executed only
once.

Select the formula to be batched via the external contacts or the switch.

Close the CYCLE START external contact and the number of the formula that is about to start will
be displayed for 1 second. The batching phase will begin from here.

N.B. When batching of the same formula is called via external contact, the DOS2005 can begin
batching on a scale even if the other scales and the litre counter have not yet terminated the
previous batching cycle. This operating mode enables a reduction in batching times.

BATCHING START VIA DOS2005 KEYBOARD

Press the DOSA key and the previously selected formula will be displayed; using and
select the one that is to be executed (from 1 to 20 formulas) and confirm with ENTER; " n.c. "will be
displayed for one second; and then the value; using and set the number of formula cycles,
that is the number of times (between 1 and 9999) that you want the formula to be repeated, then
confirm with ENTER.

Before batching starts the instrument will check that:

- the formula is programmed, otherwise it will flash the warning “F_ _ _” ; press DOSA to exit.

- If there is a multiplier the sum of the products programmed for scales “A”, “b” and the litre
counter must not be greater than the maximum weight programmed in constants, otherwise these
warning signals will be flashed for the respective scales: “PA ¯ ¯” , “Pb ¯ ¯” , “PCOUN”. Press
DOSA to exit.

Once the above conditions have been checked, the DOS2005 closes the output of the litre counter
and before the start of batching on the scales it checks that:

- the enable contacts for scales “A”, “b” are closed, otherwise these signals will be flashed :"ConSA"
or "ConSb" . Close the contacts to start batching or exit by pressing DOSA.

- scales “A”, “b” are tared, i.e. the weight is lower than the minimum weight set in the constants,
otherwise the " tArAA" , “tArAb” signals will flash on the display. Press DOSA to exit and bring the
system back to tare in order to start batching.

After checking the previous conditions, the instrument begins batching simultaneously for scales “A”,
“b”.
If autotare is enabled, the weight of scales A” and “b” will be reset to zero.
- 20 -
Batching scale “A”: The batching cycle starts and is indicated when the DOSA LED lights up. If
the “LE.on” and “LE.Of” values and the slow value have been programmed, the contact of the scale
“A” product will be opened and closed for the whole of the slow phase until the weight is reached.
Once the programmed formula quantity has been batched, the product contact will be opened, with
the fall value taken into consideration. The LED/s of the next product programmed in the formula
will blink for the whole of the pause time, and then will remain lit when the contact of the relevant
product is closed.
When batching has finished the cycle end contact will be closed and the “END” LED will be lit.
Cycle end will remain closed until the set minimum weight has been reached and the safe-emptying
time has passed, thus allowing automatic unloading to take place.

Batching scale “b”: The batching cycle starts and is indicated when the DOSA LED lights up. If
the “LE.on” and “LE.Of” values and the slow value have been programmed, the contact of the scale
“b” product will be opened and closed for the whole of the slow phase until the weight is reached.
Once the programmed formula quantity has been batched, the product contact will be opened, with
the fall value taken into consideration. The LED/s of the next product programmed in the formula will
blink for the whole of the pause time, and then will remain lit when the contact of the relevant
product is closed.
When batching has finished the cycle end contact will be closed and the “END” LED will be lit.
Cycle end will remain closed until the set minimum weight has been reached and the safe-emptying
time has passed, thus allowing automatic unloading to take place.

Batching litre counter (COUNt) : When the external logic starts batching in the litre counter by
closing the LITRE COUNTER contact (“led OUT” lit) counting of the meter pulses will begin (“in
COUNT” LED blinking to show the arrival of pulses). When the set value has been reached, the
LITRE COUNTER contact will be opened. The end of the batching cycle is signalled by the “OUT
COUNT” LED flashing for 5 seconds.

If the printer is installed and enabled in constants “StA=1”, the data of all scales will be
printed at the end of the batching cycle.

FUNCTIONS OF KEYS DURING BATCHING (interrupting batching)

- When H2O is pressed the DOS2005 keyboard will display the quantity of liquid to be batched; it
is possible to change the set value (even during batching) by using the arrow keys.
- When DOSA is pressed on the DOS2005 keyboard the " HALt " signal will flash and batching will
be interrupted temporarily. Press ENTER to resume batching, or press DOSA to interrupt batching
completely and return to the weight display.
- When MENU is pressed on the DOS2005 keyboard, for 1 second you will see the formula
number and the number of cycles for each scale (e.g. F 20 A12 b 11) .

MANUAL BATCHING
Press MAN using and and select from P1A to P8A (scale “A” products), from P1b to P4b
(scale “b” products – the weight of scale “b” is displayed on scale “A”), COUNt output (litre counter –
the litre counter pulses are displayed on scale “A”) and the three F.C.A. “F.C.b”, outputs which
enable unloading of the scales.
Select the required product and the relevant LED will light up; use the ENTER key to close the
contact and the weight will increase on the display; when the required weight is reached, press
ENTER again to open the contact and stop batching. The DOS2005 memorises the consumption
and if the printer is enabled (“StA=1”) it sends the data for printing with the date, time and quantity.
After c. 3 seconds it will be possible to select a new product or terminate using the MAN key.

RESUMING AFTER A POWER CUT

If there is a power cut during batching (including during the unloading phase, with the cycle end
contact closed), when the current is restored the " bLoC " signal will flash on the display; confirm
using ENTER and batching will resume from where it was interrupted; when DOSA is pressed, the
consumption will be saved and then interrupted and you will be taken back to the weight display.

WEIGHT OSCILLATION FILTER

In the event of instability of the instrument due to vibrations or installation with mixers, it is possible
to set the FILTER parameter to alleviate the problem. Each scale has its own filter parameter. To
reduce oscillations increase the filter value; the greater the set value, the slower the weight variation
on the display.

Press ENTER to display the set value and to confirm it.

Press and to modify the set value.

Switch off the instrument and switch back on by holding MENU, you will see “C.0.S.c.”, press
and you will see:
