 Company History

Puregold Price Club, or simply Puregold, is a Philippine-based and operated retail enterprise. Lucio
Co, a Chinese Filipino businessman, created the company on September 8, 1998. In December 1998,
the company launched its first store in Mandaluyong City. "Tindahan ni Aling Puring," PGOLD's
loyalty program, was started in 2004. (PSE Edge, 2021). Puregold has almost 300 locations in the
Philippines' retail industry, including supermarkets, and operates wholesale and retail businesses
(Bloomberg, 2021). The corporation is also a publicly traded corporation that trades on the
Philippine stock exchange. It began selling stock to the general public in 2011, and since then, the
firm has made a concerted effort to expand the number of its locations around the country.

 Statement of Purpose

Puregold is intended to be a one-stop shop for everything you need on a daily basis. It provides
buyers with convenience, a large range of options, affordable pricing, and consistency in product
quality. You may save a lot of time by not having to make many trips on your shopping day.

 Business Description

Puregold Price Club, Inc. is a chain of supermarkets which offers a wide variety of general
merchandise and a full-service supermarket with wholesale. Unlike other Puregold stores, Puregold
Price Club offers wholesale in merchandise. The advent of one-stop shopping convenience began in
1998 when PUREGOLD opened its first branch along Shaw Blvd. in Mandaluyong City. The store
offered a wide array of goods from groceries, apparel, household accessories and furniture at very
affordable prices. During that time, the one-stop shopping philosophy was still a novel idea to
consumers but with the excellent service and quality products it provided, it did not take long for
Puregold to make its mark in the retail industry

 Product and Services

II. MARKETING PLAN

 Marketing Strategy

products, meat and seafood products, vegetables and fruits, wines and liqueurs, and other
personal-use items; non-food items like clothing, shoes, household chemicals, appliances,

Place
When it comes to starting a business, one of the most crucial factors to consider is the
location. It must be assured that the intended audience may readily access it. If a firm
chosen site is subsequently
revealed to be incompatible with the circumstances, especially when considering its target
market, the company may collapse. The right selection of a site guarantees that you contact
your target consumers and answer to their market demands in a timely manner. Puregold
will be housed in a large open area.

Price
Puregold Price Club Inc. (PGOLD) is a Philippine-based firm that buys, sells, distributes, and
markets wholesale and retail items and commodities in various regions of the country.
Puregold pricing is significantly more reasonable and accessible to the general population
than its biggest competitors, Shopwise and SM Investments, Co.

Members receive cheaper prices and preferential treatment inside the firm, which is
especially useful to club members. The company membership is known as Aling Puring
membership. What are the benefits of belonging to this organization? Customers who buy
with their Aling Puring card can enjoy up to a 3% discount on their purchases by
accumulating points on their card every time they shop. Redeemable rebates are earned as
points that may be redeemed at any Puregold Jr. location. Points earned are similar to
rebates in that they may be redeemed at any Puregold Brance location (excluding Puregold
Jr.) and also used as a form of payment when purchasing.

A Points Rebate Redemption Program, free delivery with a minimum purchase and a
distance
requirement from the store are among the other benefits. Call – Order – Pick up Service via
phone, text message, or email Transactions by wireless and COD, Kitang Kita Packs and
Kitang Kita Case for additional savings and points, Ka Asenso events, promotions, and text
blast alerts, Bi-Annual Ka Asenso Booklet unique Kalendaryo ni Aling Puring discounted
coupons, and more.

Promotions
•ADVERTISEMENT ON TELEVISION
Puregold plans to utilize television commercials to tempt and persuade customers to buy
their products and services. One technique for enhancing brand recognition is to use
successful brand endorsers. Puregold endorsers include Vic Sotto, host of Eat Bulaga, and
Joey De Leon, who are well-known comedians who can effectively mimic a range of roles
and characters..

•BILLBOARDS/POSTERS/TRANSIT
MEDIA/FLYERS/BILLBOARDS/POSTERS/FLYERS/BILLBOARDS/POSTERS/FLY
In order to grab the attention of consumers and potential customers, outdoor ads such as
billboards, posters, transit media, and flyers are being examined. It is also said to be cost-
effective because it reaches thousands of individuals every day in the Philippines, and the
message is conveyed consistently and regularly. Puregold uses sales promotion as another
method of attracting customers, giving discounts of up to 50% on items, pormo bundles,
and incentives, among other things.

•Promotional Raffle
The usage of raffle tickets is another way to encourage people to buy products. Customers
will continue to buy more items until they are able to earn a raffle ticket. This method has a
big influence on the business since it a surge in the demand for a certain product.

V. REFLECTION

It made me realize how many things to consider when starting a business, as well as the various
strategies for maintaining it as the economy and people's preferences change, and how important it is
to build relationships when doing business, not just with your investors, but also with your customers,
as they will be the ones who will fuel your business. We should also stick by our objectives, as well as
your company's purpose and vision, because they will establish and influence the direction your
company is aiming to take and how it will grow. And you will observe your company's expertise as it
enters the market while remaining true to its objective. It also made me understand how vital it is to
monitor cash flow, regardless of how big or little your business is, since it determines the condition of
your business and how well it is performing, and by doing so, you are rescuing your business from
bankruptcy.
