in life, most researchers dedicate their work to their family members specially to parents but
you can dedicate it to friends as well.
Acknowledgement
Here you have the chance to express your gratitude from all those who contributed in your
research in one or other way. Like you can say a thank you to your teachers, respected
supervisors, friends, family members or any other person who helped you in the research
process.
Abstract
It is a short description of the whole research conducted. It is probably one or two pages long.
It will elaborate what the research is about, how the data was collected, what methods are
used in the research, sample size, brief description on findings and recommendations.
Abstract is designed for readers who do not have time to go through the entire report so if
they read it will get an overall picture about the subject.

In short, the abstract should elaborate the following.

- Description of the research problem

- Research questions and objectives
- Description of hypothetical statements
- Research methodologies
- Main Findings and Recommendations

The Abstract ought to be of at least 250 words minimum and maximum of 300 words

Key Words: Student’s satisfaction, Jahan Institute of Higher education, Afghanistan,

Satisfaction, Higher Education. (Key words title should be bold and elements of the keywords
should be not bold.)

Please describe the key words of your research under this title. For example, if you are
conducting a research on a survey on students’ satisfaction at Jahan Institute of Higher
Education, Kabul Afghanistan so, your key words will be Students’ Satisfaction, Jahan
Institute of Higher Education.

Research Methodology
A. Introduction
The introduction provides a general overview about the topic and clarifies why the research
topic that you have chosen is important. This gives information about the background and
context of your research topic. Introducing the topic is not an easy task; you need a lot of
brainstorming, literature review and exploration before putting it in the right frame. Most
topics are rejected when it is not introduced well so introduction elaborates why there is a
need for conducting the research. It is worth noting that in the introduction, researcher need
creativity, conceptual skills, and the ability to think clearly in order to present a good
introduction.

B. Literature Review
In the literature review, you describe what is done so far on the topic. Here the research is
doing a critical analysis on the research topic chosen and explore the findings of the existing
research available on the subject. The researcher explores how the previous authors have
explored this topic and what methods they used to present their findings and
recommendations to address the problem. Moreover, the literature review helps to know not
to produce the same output as others have done in the past. It adds in the knowledge of
researcher about the research topic and it signals whether the researcher is able to critically
analyze and explore the research topic/problem.
In the methodology section, you will explain the design of your research meaning will you
use a pre-defined questionnaire or perform practical observations. Here you also define the
number of participants and their designations who will be taking part in the research and will
briefly explain the procedures like how you will conduct the research, what are
processes/activities involved and how long will take you to complete the research work.

At least 4 sources ought to be mentioned

At least 1.5 pages

C. Problem Statement
Here it is said what is the specific problem that the research will look at to resolve. It
describes the work of the existing research on the problem and will add what will be the new
findings/solution which the existing research lacking.

D. Research Objectives
It describes what are the results that will have achieved upon completion of the research. It
shows what specifically you want to achieve and how you will address the problem of the

vii
research. Furthermore, it describes how and where the search may help policy makers, donors,
or other involved stakeholders.

E. Research need
F. Research Questions
Developing a good research question is one of the first critical steps in the research process.
The research question, when appropriately written, will guide the research project and assist
in the construction of a logical argument.  The research question should be a clear, focused
question that summarizes the issue that the researcher will investigate.
In order to carry out the research and get a roadmap on doing the research, there is need to put
some questions which will guide you on data collection and exploring the research topic. Here
the researcher may include two or more than two questions depending on the depth of
research topic.

viii
G. Hypothesis
It is a simple statement, which describes what the research is trying to explore. It is worth to
mention that the hypothesis statement should be specific and achievable. It shows relationship
between two or more than two variables. The statement can be either positive or negative as
follow.

1. Alternative Hypothesis: It means that there is positive relationship between the

variables you are trying to address
2. Null hypothesis: it means there is negative relationship between the variables you are
trying to address

Simple example:

1. Advertisement has a positive impact on Sales of XYZ Company. (Alternative

hypothesis)
2. Advertisement does not have a positive impact on Sales of XYZ Company. (Null
hypothesis)

H. Research Methodology
It shows which methods the researcher will use to carry out the research. It describes what
tools and methodologies you will use to address the research problem. It shows the work
plan of the researcher as well as the activities, used during the research

I. Research Innovation
Video provides a powerful way to help you prove your point. When you click Online Video,
you can paste in the embed code for the video you want to add. You can also type a keyword
to search online for the video that best fits your document.

J. Research limitation
Data Analysis, results and discussions
After the data collection, the researcher will use the data for analysis and reporting results.
Data analysis may depict in the form of graphs, percentage or in description format. You can
use different software like SPSS (Statistical package for social sciences) or ODK (Open Data
Kit) for your data analysis, you can also use excel or access while doing the analysis of simple
data.
