In response to Division Memorandum No. 26 s. 2022,
Malugay Elementary School joins in the celebration of the 2022 National Women’s Month Celebration with its sub-theme: “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran.” The said activity was held last March 29, 2022 and initiated by Mrs. Adela P. Ruiz, Head teacher and Ms. Hazel Joy G. Morales, School Gender And Development (GAD) coordinator. As part of the celebration, all the faculty members wore purple clothes. The program started at one o’clock in the afternoon with a prayer and national anthem which was All-Women Cast Lupang Hinirang Video was utilized. It was followed by the opening remarks of Ms. Morales. She shared a thought to the group about 500 peso bill which was she crumpled and stepped-on, she said that “This 500 peso bill is like women, every challenges given to us, there’s none that we can’t surpass. Our value doesn’t decrease even if we’re stepped-on and crumpled by society.” With that she shared a qoute “Our value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see our worth.” Then, she greets everyone and Ma’am Ruiz gave everyone a lei served as a token of appreciation for their hard-work and resilience at school. Since the purpose of the activity was to highlight the achievement of everyone and to empower them, everyone was asked to share their most valuable experience and struggle that help them grow and made them stronger, Mrs. Adela P. Ruiz shared that ever since her childhood, her voice wasn’t heard by her siblings because she was the youngest but when she became a teacher her voice was so powerful and her opinions were the one who her siblings valued first.
Wellness activity was followed to
uplift the mood, a group picture like in photo booths and a Tiktok dance “Left Right Challenge” was performed by everyone. It was a a heartwarming activity and everyone enjoyed it. The celebration of Women’s Month gave so much joy and they went home bringing the confidence in them, EMPOWERED and ready to take a leap embracing the motto “BABAE TAYO, HINDI BABAE LANG.” Prepared by: HAZEL JOY G.
