SOP Title Isolate/Restore SPLIT AC
SOP Purpose To Shutdown & isolate SPLIT AC for preventive maintenance activities as per applicable MOP &
restore back to normal operation

RISK
This is a low risk activity with low consequences because the SPLIT AC system is N+1 and only one SPLIT AC will be
isolated at a time.
Prerequisites Check

Check and Confirm the Tag-No/ Sr. No of the unit to be isolated
Check & confirm that the other redundant SPLIT AC units are running without alarm / warnings & ready to
carry the additional cooling demand load.
Ensure the access & egress routes are unobstructed.
Confirm the availability of spare parts or kit (if required)
Ensure that a WO is issued and approved
Safety Check

LOTO must be installed on all manipulated breakers & valves
Proper PPE must be worn
Loose clothing, jewelry, long hair etc. made safe. Proper uniform (overall) should be worn.
Warning signs indicating that Maintenance Work is in Progress to be posted in a position that can be clearly
seen.
Maintain a clean & clear environment to minimize Slip & Trip hazards

ROLL BACK PLAN
If any of the below steps cannot be executed and prevent from completing the SOP within the change
window, then roll back by restoring SPLIT AC Make sure that the roll back to normal conditions is possible,
otherwise refer to applicable EOP- SPLIT AC to sustain the operation

Shutdown & Isolation Procedures

1. Proceed to area and find unit SPLIT AC

2. Inform the monitoring system operator that the task is about to start
3. Turn OFF unit from remote control
4. Wait a few seconds until the unit is completely OFF
5. Turn OFF the internal unit Disconnect switch
6. Confirm that the SPLIT AC unit is de-energized completely.
7. Proceed with the maintenance as per the applicable MOP

Restoration to normal operation

1. Proceed to SPLIT AC
2. Turn 0N the outdoor unit Disconnect switch

3. Turn ON unit from remote control

4. Check for any sign of loose connection or leak

5. Return back the unit protection covers

6. Wait until the unit complete the startup and stabilize (around 10-20 seconds)
7. Inform the monitoring system Operator that the task including all test and parameters measurement have been
completed
8. Check and confirm housekeeping works are conducted and all debris are disposed of from the location

9. Return back the tools and replaced component to the Store department

10. Close WO
