Job description defined as: new


1.0. JOB SUMMARY: Assists Pharmacist in dispensing of medicines to outpatients, inpatients, and
external clients. Helps in the filling up of medication trolleys for the unit
dose in the inpatient wards. Assists other colleagues within the department
as runner to facilitate daily work within the department
2.0. PRINCIPAL CONTACTS: In contacts mainly with colleagues in the department; with
Supervisor administratively on assignments, scheduling, control, technical
and operational problems. Frequent contacts with Pharmacist to assist as
required. In contact with ward nurses to clarify orders when filling
medication trolleys for unit dose.
3.0. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
3.1. Assists Pharmacists in rendering safe and effective pharmaceutical service to all clients.
3.2. Works under supervision responsible to exercise due care in the dispensing of
pharmaceuticals.
3.3. Follows directions and guidance from Supervisor and Pharmacists.
3.4. Receives and controls receipts and issuances as applicable and designed by Chief
Pharmacist.
3.5. Arranges stocks in the shelves according to first-in first-out or shelf-life inventory system
selling first priority to short shelf-life items and giving special attention to refrigerated and
dated items to eliminate therapeutic problems and costly write-offs.
3.6. Assist Pharmacist during inventory-taking in the wards and in Pharmacy area stores.
3.7. Dispenses medicine and medical supplies according to Physicians' prescriptions or in-patient
Physicians' order under the supervision of Pharmacist or Supervisor.
3.8. Keeps and maintains prescriptions requiring filing for references.
3.9. Advises Physicians under guidance of Pharmacist of any abnormality in the prescription
and/or if the medication prescribed is not available in stock.
3.10. Has the authority to collect unwanted medications in the wards as per 48MHpolicy; with
appropriate documentations; and signing received to return in Pharmacy.
3.11. Cooperates with Pharmacist in the work area to assure effective manpower utilization and
accountability.
3.12. Assist in repacking of medications, if necessary.
3.13. Performs other related duties as may be required by the Pharmacist, Supervisor or chief
Pharmacist to effect efficient services.
3.14. Maintains proper Inventory of drugs. Monitor expiration dates and maintains necessary
records.
4.0. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
4.1. Education: BSC in Pharmacy or equivalent diploma after high school graduation.
4.2. Experience: Two (2) years as Pharmacist from a reputable hospital or Pharmacy company.
4.3. Knowledge/Skills: Thorough knowledge of Yemini Government policies and regulations
regarding pharmaceuticals. Ability to gain the confidence of and work with all levels in the
Medical services, and collaborative departments. Can deal with colleagues and other
subordinates within collaborative departments with regards to Pharmacy issues.
4.4. Equipment Operated: Computer and other computing machines.
4.5. Licensure: A Registered Pharmacist (Assistant Level)
4.6. Languages: Proficiency both in English and Arabic is preferred.
4.7. Personal Requirement: Yemini national is preferred. Must have integrity, initiative,
evidence of good health and grooming, good moral character and right conduct, strong and
pleasing personality.
4.8. Job Requirement: Participates actively in organization-wide activities without hesitance
or personal reservation. Can adapt to unusual job-related circumstances. Works
effectively under stressful condition. Willing to work extended hours to attend to
emergency cases. Willing to relocate in other 48MH in order to fill in gap, if needed.
Expert in dealing with clients.

4.9. Travel: Willing; medically and physically fit to travel for business purposes such as: going
to other 48MH to introduce a new system.
